I'm honestly and genuinely disgusted at the idea of someone seriously using the "lol the shop encourages posting" argument.

It doesn't. Or at least, it hasn't for the last two years or so. Posting encourages posting. Our recent obsession with stats encourages posting. Not the fucking shop.

Yes, different images exist for sticky and unstickied threads in most themes (Temple, Bloo, etc), but for Smokes and Victrola, Snorkel just copied the same picture between sticky and unsticky file names. Some other SMF themes, like Core, add a second image like to mark sticky status

In Smokes:

I didn't even know this was a problem and thought you guys just didn't know the difference between thread icons until popsi's post; the icons used in other non-smokes themes are a little confusing: sticky adds an overlay thumbtack, a thread you replied to is marked with the square face-like thing you see above (the my_ prefix in the image name), and a thread with both of these traits is turned into a bubble.

tl;dr: I suggest snorkel make some sort of suitable tiny graphic to place on the top half of those Smokes/Victrola thread icons to indicate sticky status. Maybe an up arrow, a star, or an x?
