I'm sick of having to play all my games on my laptop just so that I can record the footage of them.

Where would I get some split cables that I could use to still play it on my laptop, but also have it connected to my TV so that I can play it on a much more improved quality.

Quality won't be better. Just bigger unless you have a tiny TV.

DVD recorders will do the job as far as I know. Ask someone at Best Buy.
