Well, today I got my essay about Garret Hardin's essay "Lifeboat Ethics: The Case Against Helping the Poor" back.   

On the last page my teacher wrote the comment "I don't think this is your work, if I find a source you'll get no points"


I'm not sure if I should be honored that she thought my paper was so awesome that I couldn't have written it, or if I should be offended that she would accuse me of something so absurd and untrue.


The one thing she could have claimed I copied was when I said "50% of the world's wealth is owned by 2% of the population", but I then cited it with ¹ and put my source in a footnote.   


What should I do?

I usually come across something like this once or twice a year. What I usually say is "well, go ahead... you're not gonna find anything and just because my paper is so good doesn't mean it's stolen; search all you want, but I did this paper."

I find it really annoying that my teacher would think that something I wrote is too good just because a majority of people around me are dumbassses.
