 I think he was set up to believe he killed Kennedy. A conspiracy of some kind. As far as his bullet actually killing Kennedy, I doubt it did.  Too many things don't make sense.

The angle of the bullets not matching eye witness reports. The different angles the bullets came from. Hell, even the reports don't match the facts.
