Everyone knows Open Source things are the best, they're free, and people can change things to personalize it for themselves. If we didn't have open source we'd still be with IE and Safari. Soon Songbird will take over this piece of shit iTunes media player.

Lawlz, if Shiira is so perfect why is it that the most recent versions are riddled with problems, such as displaying animated GIFs?  You even recommended older versions of it because you said 2.2 sucks.  If you can pick and choose which versions to support in your claims of browser superiority then the same can be said for Firefox. Firefox 3 passes the Acid 2 test.

Ideologically, and monetarily, I prefer open source.  Closed source is bad enough, but closed source that makes extensive use of open-source components (OS X itself, Safari, etc.) just sucks.

Shiira has no problems with GIFs. The problem is people have animation turned off.

Also, I didn't use the 2.x versions of Shiira until after I got Safari 3. Overall, it's pretty sweet, but it suffers a speed drop because of the Safari beta. Had I not installed it, I know it would've been much better. And Firefox 3 doesn't exist. Shiira 1.2.2 does.

I never said all things open source are better than all things non-open. Songbird is still in beta though if it ever is released in a full version I'll download it asap. Right now it's horrible.
