Doesn't Photoshop CS2 have an Alpha to Selection option? I thought I recalled seeing one, but I can't find it anywhere. It sucks that GIMP has it, but the supposedly superior Photoshop doesn't. caterpie;

Somebody please prove me wrong.

Ever use GIMP? Alpha to Selection selects the object alone, not the space around it. It fits snug right up against the text or image, and if put a gradient in that area or something, it's only fill in the selected area and leave the blank parts out.

Kind of like the lasso tool, except it's not a bitch to use and does it all with a single click.

Maybe you can try CTRL clicking the layer's small preview that is to the left of the layer's name?
