in 5? yeah but side quests are a VERY common thing in RPG's. It doesn't have to be related to Social Links. if that's what you were getting at.....

At this rate, there will be a Persona 5 spinoff before the actual game releases

P4 has 1 remake, 4 spinoffs, and 2 animes. It'll take a while for Atlus to make P5 catch up to that, but they'll certainly try.
