maybe the later episodes are significantly more interesting but after an hour and forty minutes of boredom i'd be pretty surprised if that were the case

I'd say the third episode isn't much better than the first two in terms of what you're expecting, but in the fourth episode, there's both a lot more action (three foes rather than one) and also one of the main characters is developed and becomes significantly more interesting

the strangest thing is while the series isn't bad, if I try to look objectively (as far as it’s possible), I have to say that I absolutely hate it.

Everything about this series screams at you that it wasn't going to just be your normal series and it certainly is not in many ways. The problem is, though, that special and different don’t always mean better. There are reasons why stories and TV shows are the way they are and Katanagatari seems to prove that by showing us how to do it wrong. Ironically, if it had adhered more to tried and tested methods of modern storytelling then I would have an awful lot more to recommend about it.

i basically have to agree entirely (although "hate" is too strong, more like somewhat dislike) with these sentiments so far, but we'll see i guess

i'm certainly willing to give it another episode or two before we decide to drop it from streaming
