ok so we're scheduling and I took spanish I this year but I hate it and wanna take latin. My mom says that I shud take the spanish to get the credit over with but i rly wanna take latin.

If you end up hating Latin, go back to Spanish the next year.

If you understand Latin then you'll be able to understand a little bit of all those languages from Europe.

If you've taken spanish 6-8, take latin. you know enough spanish.

Yes you are correct, all of the Romance Languages are based off of Latin, you will also improve your English skills.
