Are "trans-man" and "mother" mutually exclusive? I don't see why they should be.

The biological role one plays as a """birth-person""" is mother. One can still be a man for all other intents and purposes and also be a biological mother. I genuinely don't get why the word "mother" needs to be euphemismized here. It does not somehow invalidate the existence of transmen.

Sometimes colloquial definitions are inaccurate. Tomatoes are considered vegetables, but are biologically fruit. Many "berries," such as strawberries, are not berries at all, while bananas and eggplants are.

If you're speaking strictly biologically, sure, but culturally I don't think it holds up.

funny you mention that, this is something native french speakers can struggle a bit with when they start learning english because in french you use le/la pretty much every time

i'm sure there's many other examples but i can only think of one rn, when you present someone by their title:

"this is the doctor gibbings" (voici le docteur gibbings)
putting it in english sounds awkward
NOT putting it in french sounds awkward
