Hey all, I'm interested in finding some folk music and I don't know where to start. I like how personal folk music can be and am interested in drawing some inspiration from said music.
I came across this cuz I went back to listen to that one lil wayne song, and I think it's pretty unique.

Basket of light is a cool album.
I like Ed askew a bit, even though his lyrics can be fluffy as hell. His album "ask the unicorn" actually isn't bad.

Sibylle Baier's Color Green is fantastic. Dreamy and melancholy. I'd really recommend looking into this one.

Mark Fry's Dreaming of Alice is really awesome psych-folk from the early seventies. This is another one to check out for sure.

Jackson C frank is another essential. He's something you'd expect to hear past ten pm, outside around a campfire when the talk gets to things that have already happened.
