for me it was StarCraft.
I used to think RTS used to be for peopl who liked boring things, but once I got my hands on StarCraft I've been somewhat addicted to RTS games. akudood;
I don't know I don't really play much of anything out of my comfort zone... I don't give things much of a chance if I try them.
People have tried getting me into Starcraft, League of Legends, Final Fantasy, Phantasy Star Online. They're just not me. Can't stand em. I guess the closest I've come was enjoying Golden Sun after thinking I would hate it because of FF. Still didn't finish it though
thanks for te post Aubrey giggle;
any video game really
i don't rly have comfort zones??? i'll kinda play anything.
well okay actually i do have an aversion to typical sports games but tbh that's never going to change because real sports games are never not going to be anything but just real sports games. they'll always be boring to me.
uhh i guess i also have an aversion to like mmos and similar stuff but idk, i guess i wouldn't be opposed to playing a cool one but i can't see myself getting heavily invested in an online game, especially if it's a pc game
almost every game i've played this generation was beyond my comfort zone at some point, because prior to this i was primarily a nintendo gamer lol
but as for recent risks i've taken, [glow=black,2,300]skyrim[/glow] was a huge one that i ended up not hating too much, which is surprising because it's both an rpg (although i seem to have few issues with wrpgs, really) and a first-person game
some examples of other games that i didn't think i would enjoy include:
-demon's souls
-monster hunter
-age of empires
-jet set radio future
-infamous
-mass effect
"not hating too much"
could you just be honest and say how much you did or didn't enjoy it
Despite its many glaringly apparent flaws, it was one of the better games I played this generation, I guess. :'(
i hate strategy games but liked front mission and ffta
Golden Sun
Tales of Symphonia
Legend of Dragoon
ummm
I guess Resident Evil 4 at the time since it was the first m-rated game that I actually played
also deus ex and stalker
shooters. i used to hate them, until my friend got me into the medal of honor series back when it was pretty good.

such a long time ago :(
i'm getting 999 and it's nothing i've ever played before but i hope to enjoy it
ouendan 1 & 2. i don't even know how i got interested into them at first. i started with #2. i also never really liked adventure games, but twilight peincess and ocarina were good. (never liked adventure games other than link to the past when i was a kid) i also liked metroid prime 2, but never finished it because hollywood and i was stuck in one place until i had to return it. i didn't even get past that huge alien thing in the capsule in the beginning of the 1st one b/c bored.
lol
how dare you

depends on what you mean by "adventure games"
stuff that is akin to zelda games
Hell, I understand the complaints against Zelda, but the core gameplay is pretty universally enjoyable. If you ask me
well david doesn't like THAT type of adventure game, clearly
so there's one person
i think of old point-and-click games as "adventure games", I think of zelda as "action/adventure" and how can you not like those games it's like the most generally appealing genre imo

yeah i'm pretty sure almost everyone thinks of zelda as "action/adventure"
and i think it's referred to as such by basically any publication or website

i wouldn't go as far to say that i love it, but new leaf is a massive improvement over my experience with the gamecube version
