Title: Chiptune
Post by: me003 on October 11, 2012, 05:20:55 PM
So this guy I found on Newgrounds who makes really awesome chiptune music. REALLY!

http://bleepybloopy.bandcamp.com/

You can download it for free.
You can also dl the program he used called Famitrack, I did and it's pretty rad.

Yeah, I can't say I'm a fan of most of it. But I love the artist I posted above.

you're a terrible person

anyway, as far as non-vidya soundtracks go, can't say i ever really listen to "pure" chiptune. it's always artists that mix chiptunes in with other things. artists that i'm sure everyone knows. depreciation guild, anamaniguchi, she, etc.

primitive video game music

as far as that goes, I actually sometimes prefer cheesy midi soundtracks as heard in PC games

figure I'll dump the stuff that I listen to that hasn't been posted here

Slime Girls - Kinda similar to Anamanaguchi, I get the same vibes from them.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SvfeL9vbfd4

Cheap Dinosaurs - I only really listen to this one song but dang I love this one song
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7qLYqp3bA4

The J. Arthur Keenes Band - I get more like indie rock vibes from this, it's got vocals on it. I dig it
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67PAJwrHyGc

Rainbowdragoneyes - I used to be really into this dude's stuff, not so much anymore. Dude is super talented though, his gameboy melodies are insane. Check it out if you like metal and eurobeat at the same time or something. got vocals over it + screams so avoid if you're not into that stuff. if you're really into metal you might know him as the drummer of vale of pnath and swashbuckle
