My freshman year ended today and I formally withdrew from university. Got pretty good grades but kept having anxiety attacks and shit. Gonna take a year off to work and get dat money, then I'm gonna transfer to a closer school to get an associates' in business management. Already got my electives and most of my gen-eds out of the way at uni so I'll only have to be there for a little over a year, and I'll still graduate earlier than I would have if I stayed at uni bassir;
Any of you fellers drop out of school? I know I'm not the only one
I'm toying with the idea of dropping out for a few quarters next year and going to Chicago, but idk. I'm starting to enjoy myself more and I have a really great living situation worked out for next year so I might not.

i'm going back
practically because what i want to do forces me to have a a degree
plus it wouldn't hurt in making better networks
i fantasize of finding a good teacher whom i have a good connection with n_u
If I could do it all over again I would just get it out of the way and be done with it. But now, it is like an open, festering wound. Too many maggots and flies for any healing to occur.
I'm (at least up to now) pretty good at school and I can't see myself dropping out.
I guess I was forced to take a semester or two off because of financial constraints. I owe them money so they won't let me register. Which means I also lose financial aid. Which I was kind of living off of. So I've been pretty fucked lately with the lack of job. Thats fixed now, but I am in so much fucking debt.

I'm pretty set with my situation now...I need to stay in school to keep living in the house I'm living in...plus, I love my college. Shimer is awesome and different, and I also can't wait to be a lawyer ^-^

Bellingham Wa is pretty sweet. Arguably some of the best cannabis in the country giggle;
also it is a beautiful little town with cool hippie-minded folk

at the risk of derailing this thread with cannabis, i really want to try some querkle. if you've had some or have ever had some let me know if its pretty great
the parent strains are purple urkle and space queen. its like an 80/20 indica dominant, but it doesn't have the usual drowsiness associated with heavy indica strains. its very...euphoric?

I've definitely had that strain at some point or another (name sounds really familiar, only way I know) but I don't remember what the high was like. I'm actually pretty bad at determining the differences in highness from different strains.

Well. I have access to Medical MaryJ, so...
Also, Headband is a pretty sweet strain.
i was FWB with this weird cougar and she was from california and she said they had the best "sticky icky" though i don't smoke i don't know all i wanted was a blowjob
as far as college goes, i don't hold much for it. It's a flawed system designed to trap people in debt for a good amount of time unless they're a doctor and they work their ass off or they have a scholarship.

it is pretty cool that all these weed junkies will be literally arrested in the incoming year.

It's inadequate to compare me with the male penis, flattering, but not correct. I'm a very good person and I treat people accordingly.

I could post advertisements from various dispensaries in my town and from Seattle but that wouldn't do the Bellingham cannabis market justice.
Idk, if anything I'd say that we're on an equal level, but I wouldn't say that you have me beat.

I'll be able to answer that question in a year.
Though I am going to a community college for a little over a year's worth of business classes, so I doubt it'll be that difficult doodella;
stop trying. you will never reach that dream
can we make an official dropping out thread

srsly
even though this past year i really only went out for food and classes, i enjoy it. it's comforting knowing i'm in a safe place where most people respect each other and many people enjoy learning
i really wish life as a whole were more like college
I guess I was always too cynical and extreme for my own good because College was absolutely meaningless to me and the company I was with only made me less and less enthusiastic about the future of humanity, and the so called process of 'learning' in an institution.

go into a real major and you'll learn a lot
if it's a social science or business or something then you're really just getting a worthless degree
I just went into it with the idea of learning what I wanted to learn. I just wanted to take a bunch of writing and lit classes, so that's basically what I did.

It doesn't matter because I never felt my life would be shaped by an academic degree. It just didn't feel necessary or seem important, and I'll always feel this way because what I value most is the self. I have plenty of interaction with everyone from a CEO, to a doctor, a teacher or a construction worker, and I realize that besides money and power, their education has done nothing to separate them on an individual scale. Their formal education has done little to form their basic customs of life, and so, what is the point?
Look at yourself.
