never explored him til i saw some youtubes of him talking about depression and society
whats a good place to start
I would read post office first, it's kind of whimsically a good intro to him. then Factotum which doesn't appear to be in print currently but is his best. his poetry is lame and totally forgettable, in my opinion. ham on rye and Women are also decent but just more of the same. he's kind of a "one trick horse," but the books are short at least
after bukowski, read Henry Miller for the next level of drunken piss off sex rage!!
edit: actually it is in print but if you can find these old black sparrow press editions, they're really great. http://www.ebay.com/itm/POST-OFFICE-Charles-Bukowski-1980-/230733522631?pt=US_Fiction_Books&hash=item35b8ca26c7#ht_500wt_922

Anyone else think bukowski is slang for bukkake. Like damn broad, you want a bukowski tonight or what. That was not a question.
his poetry is goddamn awful
post office, then tales of ordinary madness, then hollywood, then ham on rye
