A Toshiba L675D in May 2011 is so far the only laptop I've ever bought and for about $500.
The exact model was deactivated on Newegg just a couple months after I bought it befuddlement
I bought an Asus Aspire 740 ... BZ848 (i dont remember the exact goddamn model name) netbook in july, then sold it a few weeks ago.

The only problem I've ever had with a computer was a hard drive failure five years ago.
HP Pavilion dv3 around August 2009. Only had problems with it not noticing the battery. That stopped however.
The only bad thing about getting a new computer is trying to tweak the settings to how you like and remembering what shit you need installed.

this process takes months for me
Sony Vaio in July '09. Nothing special really. I've had some charger issues but that's it, and they were covered by warranty. I'm in no hurry to replace it unless I want something I can game decently on. Which I kind of do.
