Title: Question about older Pokeman games and trading

Because I was stupid and traded in my old Pokemon games I have no way to trade older starting Pokemon to my Diamond. I rented Leaf Green from Gamefly, so how long do I have to go before I get to trade in it?

I have to do all of that shit before I can trade with older Pokemon games? FUCK. argh;

Damn, I guess I'll hold off on the rental. I wanted to kick some ass with the original starting 3. gonk;
