Emily Wells is at least as talented in terms of complexity of instruments.

She plays piano, glockenspiel, violin, banjo, and a ton of other instruments all while creating loops with pretty good lyrics. Newsom is good just not THAT good

I could listen to Newsom if she didn't have that hellish, flitty banshee voice. I don't understand the appeal of that style.
She plays a nice harp though.

Joanna Newsom's voie is a lot more relaxed on Have One On Me. I like all of her stuff though even with the banshee voice. I've liked it from the first time I heard it. I think she is so talented and a great story-teller. Ys is such an intense album and again POLYRYTHMS. Her harp is beautiful.
