In this case I guess it would be because you'd hope it would pick up. But then it didn't.
Baten Kaitos gonk;
I quit a bit after the midpoint.
Sometimes Xenogears, especially when you have to jump around. that camera >.<
I did have to do a bit of forcing initially for both Monster Hunter and Demon's Souls. Thankfully, they more than pick up rather quickly. THE POWER OF GOD
None come to mind...I can think of a few that I WOULD have to force myself through if I wanted to beat them though, namely the completely awful LOTR: The Third Age that I have on the Gamecube. It's a turn-based RPG.
Final Fantasy XIII oh god
Duke Nukem Forever
Except I quit a little while after Titty City realizing that there weren't enough titties in the city.
Okay not really, I quit WAY after that, but I had to force myself to play it's horrible consolized controls. It felt like a complete MW ripoff.
Several games relatives have gotten me as gifts because they often find them in the bargain bin and they're not very good myface;
Thankfully I only ever needed to get through about the first two levels
The original Zelda game. sillydood;
Devil May Cry 2 myface; gonk;
I don't even complete games I thoroughly enjoy, why would I finish a game I didn't like sillydood;
oh god, [glow=black,2,300]phantom hourglass[/glow] :'(
Magna Carta 2
I didn't know what the fuck was going on, and I never made it past the first disc.
Goldeneye: Rogue Agent
Played this horrible game simply because uh...Christopher Lee did some voice work in it.
GTA IV was rather slow toward the end, it took a great bit of willpower to drudge through it.
assassins creed....

i think only david stayed for the whole thing, but i was literally trying to beat colossus #3 on hard time trials for like...4 hours one morning. the sun was already up before i finally gave up. and then tried later and beat it only after a few tries.

after playing p4, it was impossible to enjoy p3
i got a couple weeks in and i still wasn't seeing what the hell the plot was supposed to be about and i didn't feel myself making any progress akudood;
Resident Evil 6. What a piece of shit.
now i can do it easily on my first try because of a few tricks i learned to make it much easier. unfortunately, #15 still sometimes just won't let me beat it fast enough. there are no real tricks there.
I remember specifically getting bored and trying to force my way through: Sigma Star Saga, Mario + Luigi: Something bout Time, and I hate to say it but Secret of Mana, never having played it as a kid, there was no nostagia and just didn't find the battle system to be fun.
And I didn't finish any of them. Although I do think they are all good games, they just got dull after a certain point.

i liked sigma star saga until i got to that buggy point in the game where battles literally never end and you have to just power off and try again akudood;
All post-Super Star Mario & Luigis are terrible, terrible games.

Secret of Mana I find fairly fun but it's definitely one of the more overrated SNES games I've played lol...but it does seem like it would be a lot more fun with a friend.

yeah, well, you didnt get far enough. P4 is way worse on having a SLOOOOW start.
most rpgs take quite a while before you get any sense of the plot.

some rpgs can be completed in 10 hours. p3 didn't even begin akudood;
also p4 was more interesting from the start, i think.
Every game I've ever played.
