Title: video jame backlogs
Post by: Kalahari Inkantation on May 04, 2011, 05:25:52 PM
About how large is your backlog of games, and what are some titles in particular that it consists of?

I recently created a list of games I still need to play:
999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors
Assassin’s Creed
Donkey Kong Country
Donkey Kong Country Returns
Fallout 3
Final Fantasy VII
Flower
Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective
Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City
Halo: Combat Evolved
Hotel Dusk: Room 215
Kingdom Hearts
Kirby’s Epic Yarn
Link’s Crossbow Training
LittleBigPlanet 2
Mario Kart Advance
Mario Kart Wii
Mass Effect 2
Metal Gear Ac!d
Metal Gear Ac!d 2
Metal Gear Solid (GBC)
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops
Nanostray 2
No More Heroes:  Heroes’ Paradise
Okami
Panzer Dragoon Orta
Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box
Professor Layton and the Unwound Future
Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare
Sin & Punishment: Star Successor
Sin and Punishment
Star Fox
Super Mario All-Stars: Limited Edition
The World Ends with You
Trauma Center: Under the Knife
It's at least 36 titles long, not including downloadable content for games I already own, other titles in franchises I've listed but have yet to actually experience, and the dozens of PS2 games I've no doubt missed out on by never owning a PS2. I'm probably missing many others. myface;

Portal 2 is all that's waiting right now.

But let me know when you're playing Mario Kart so we can race.  giggle;

I have shit tons of games, and I've played most of them at least once. The ones I played a bit but never really got far into them are:
The Undergarden
Overlord 2
Mirror's Edge
The Path
Recettear: An item shop's tale
Mr. Robot
Pound of Ground
The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom
Defense Grid: The Awakening
Darwinia
FLOCK!
Jolly Rover
Time Gentlemen, Please!
Bit.Trip Beat
Zombie Driver
Twin Sector
HammerFight
Freedom Force
Big Brain Wolf
I'm currently working on:
Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Super Mario Galaxy
Battalion Wars 2
I finished Brawl ages ago but recently reset everything after ages of not playing.
Battalion Wars is a great game, I got it after playing the original on Game cube.
I've gotten a bit into Super Mario Galaxy, but like Brawl, I stopped playing it for ages.

How can you not have finished masseffect myface;

That being said, Mass Effect 2 was way better.

Also I'm not sure if it counts but I'm replaying Super Paper Mario. I completed it years ago so I wasn't sure if it counted.

Oh yeah. Mass Effect 1 is much more laggy than Mass Effect 2. :/

I too was hardly able to play Mass Effect 1 , rarely it didn't lag whatsoever. (This is why I'm ignoring my desire to make another ME1 playthrough)

Mass effect 2 looked MUCH better, and it was much less laggy.

I haven't even touched most of them because I've lately been hoarding old/used/cheap games that are apparently great but I missed out on, especially for PS2.

Metal Gear Solid 3
Valkyrie Profile 2
Disgaea 1 and 2
We Love Katamari
Ookami
Persona 3
Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2
Final Fantasy X and XII
Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland
Donkey Kong Country Returns
Sonic Colours
Pokemon White

I also haven't finished Tales of the Abyss, but I agreed with a friend to exclusively play it with co-op.

Games I still need to finish? Not counting games I'll never touch anyway (free sports games and shit like that) and not counting games that never really "end," there's...

PS3:
Valkyria Chronicles
Uncharted 2
Littlebigplanet 2
Flower
Resident Evil 3

Xbox 360:
Bioshock 2
Fallout: New Vegas
Dead Rising (I only got a shitty unfinished ending)

PS2:
Devil May Cry
Devil May Cry 2
Devil May Cry 3
Tales of the Abyss
Okami
Disgaea

SNES:
Super Empire Strikes Back (I have never beaten this fucking game all my life)

NES:
Castlevania III (oh fuck this game's difficulty)
Blaster Master (TOO LONG WITH NO SAVE OR PASSWORD SYSTEM)
Zelda II
Life Force (TOO GODDAMN HARD)
Bubble Bobble (incredibly fucking long)
Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! (Tyson is so fucking hard)
Mega Man 3
Batman (WOW FUCK YOU JOKER YOU IMPOSSIBLE FUCKING FUCKER)

N64:
Harvest Moon 64 (I've never had the patience to actually play to the credits)

PS1:
Chrono Cross
Final Fantasy VIII

Genesis:
Sonic 3 (never had the patience to get all the way through this for some reason)
Sonic and Knuckles (see above)
Shining Force (kinda boring)
Vectorman
Comix Zone (gets too fucking hard in later levels)
Ecco the Dolphin (fuck this terrible overrated hard as fuck game)
Ecco 2 (see above)
Truxton (hard as shit)
Thunder Force II (see above)

Saturn:
NiGHTS into Dreams (since my saturn can't save correctly, i'd have to finish this whole game in one sitting)
Galactic Attack (hard as fuck, just like the other shmups above0

Dreamcast:
Resident Evil: Code Veronica
Wild Metal (I can't even figure out how to play this)
Virtual On (I can't even figure out how to play this well enough to not die in the fourth fight)
Power Stone (again, can't figure out how to play this shit well enough)

Gamecube:
Viewtiful Joe 2

GBA:
Mega Man Zero 3
Mega Man Zero 4
Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow

DS:
Pokemon White
Final Fantasy Tactics A2
The World Ends With You
Rocket Slime

yeah, you may get lost a bit on your first playthrough (or be like me and still manage to get stuck in some parts even after tons of replays), but other than that there's no particularly difficult parts of the games

although if you have very few energy tanks you may have difficulty fighting Dragoon your first time

it's different, but it certainly isn't bad by any means
i think it was a p. cool deviation from the norm, i wouldn't mind another zelder based on the mechanics of zelda 2 goowan

At the very least, it's quite far from being the worst Zelda game. sillydood;
