LITTLE FEAT. southern rock (from 60s - 70s) is somewhat new and unexplored to me, but this is by far one of the best bands of the genre I've found. reminiscent of The Band but straighter and bluesier. truck stop rockin keys, good rhythm and remarkably awesome lyrics/songwriting. the frontman Lowell George was apparently told by Frank Zappa (whose band he was previously part of) to go start his own thing. give it a listen.

i heard their name a lot but i never checked them out. This is pretty good . thank you for sharing .
I'd hardly call Little Feat little known.
That said, Waiting For Columbus is possibly my favorite live album of all time.
This isn't my favorite track from it, it's just the only one I could find on Youtube. All That You Dream is probably my favorite.

Also those embedded mp3 players never work for me.
EDIT: Here's a grooveshark playlist of the whole album: http://grooveshark.com/#/playlist/Waiting+For+Columbus/52757733?src=5

it sounds good, although I like their earlier albums (first two) much more than the later ones, they shouldn't have tried to get into the 'progressive' sound.
