I've been poor as hell and my parents don't share their money with me, so i've been sticking to the wii. But now i really want something new.
So which is better?
I wanted to get the PS3, but my friend is constantly trying to get me to get xbox.
Opinions would be helpful.
Well I would go with a PS3 since you say you're short on cash and the 360 requires $50 a year for Live, but if you want to play offline, get a modded 360.
Yeah i was thinking about that too, but i was just thinking of getting the 3 month card or something, because the PS3 initially costs more anyways.
But the PS3 is a more capable device considering i can put an OS on it:D
And it has blu ray....
But the xbox, has the best fps'
Fuckkk. This is hard.
I'd personally get a PS3 but if you really like shooters, Xbox would probably be better. It might be cheaper initially, but after a couple years, Xbox will have cost more with Live
Very true, and no actually i wanted the ps3 because it has final fantasy, but xbox has final fantasy, tales of vesperia, and fable. so idk....
If you have internet, get the PS3. Never having to pay is awesome
I would just look at the current line up of games and the future line up and see which you would have more interest in and go from there. They both are good systems
yeah i tried that and hell yes i have net :)
I prefer the 360, but you can't go wrong with a PS3.
I got an xbox because everybody I know has one, which opens up multiplayer possibilities. I feel like the PS3 has a superior library of games though, and not paying for PSN is a plus. It just depends what you want in a system.

The PC has the best FPS. n_u
Well i might also get a laptop instead, but i want one of these two first.
And i want ps3 for its library but xbox because everyone i know wants to play with me on it.
Honestly, it all comes down to what kind of games you play
If you like shooters and rpgs get the 360.
If you like Metal Gear Solid, Ratchet and Clank, and God of War get a ps3.
Rpg's and shooters...
I just really don't want to pay for live
and i like that you can put an OS on ps3
oh and that it has a stronger chip
and its more capable in my opinion
but everyone i know has an xbox
and it has awesome games like tales of vesperia
dude...i should beat up some kid and steal his ps3 and buy the xbox:d
haha
that would be great, too bad i wouldn't do that
The PS3 is getting a better version of Tales of Vesperia with more content.
REALLY? then ps3 it is...

actually you can only do that with the old fat ps3s myface;
but if you can fine an original one, it'll be the same price as the new slimmer model giggle;
Ah then maybe not...
fuck idk
360.
Why? Just because.
lol ill see what it comes down to at the end
i have a while still left to go

Get an Xbox 360 then. I've got both, and I hardly play my PS3. Ever. If you have friends to play Xbox with, its online is 100% worth the basically 3-4 bucks a month. Also their catalogues are nearly the same. Also Tales of Vesperia is kind of shitty.
Seriously i was playing it at my friends and i liked it ....
Well ill see but right now im leaning towards xbox anyways.
Xbox cause I hardly even touch my PS3. Reason why is because of the Party Chat & Multiplayer on the 360.
yeah now im really leaning to xbox

And Idk if you're into Facebook, Twitter, and/or Last.fm but on tuesday its gonna be available on the Xbox so thats a plus if hop on those sites
nope none
...
I only want a PS3 for Metal Gear. I think that the 360 has a better library of games, or at least a library of games more suited to my tastes. The PS3 does have a lot of interesting stuff coming out, though. I'll probably buy one whenever Sony drops the price again.

I think they mostly have the same games, aside from Halo, Gears of War, and Fable.
But PS3 has Uncharted, Resistance, God of War 3, Demon's Souls, and
The Last Guardian.
The way 360 1-ups the PS3 is the online service. But PS3 still has decent online.
Right now i am almost sure of getting the xbox, seems like a bigger win.
I have both so my opinion doesn't matter. But I would go with a PS3, because i had to buy a new 360 because mine keeled over.
Go for the PS3, bro.
Raisins:
-More diverse exclusives, such as Demon's Souls, The Last Guardian, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1 and 2, Ratchet and Clank games, Disgaea, God of War (all three of the console ones), Resistance 1 and 2, Gran Turismo, Uncharted 1 and 2, Heavy Rain, White Knight Chronicles, MAG, InFamous, LittleBigPlanet, Katamari Forever, Killzone 2, Metal Gear Solid 4, Motorstorm, Valkyria Chronicles (fuck year), and a bunch more that aren't as hyped that may interest you. Especially if you plan to get a laptop later on that might be able to play some PC games, you wouldn't want to get a 360. There are very few good 360 exclusives.
-RRoD lol. Sure, Xbros like to state how the service to get their 360 replaced or fixed is fast and easy, but what happens when consoles go into the next generation and your warranty runs out? To keep playing the games you have you either have to A. Buy Microsoft's next console (assuming its backwards compatible), or B. Search around for a used 360 to buy (which will probably break relatively soon anyways). It's either those two options or you just sell all the games, which is a real waste of money.
"Perhaps unsurprisingly Microsoftââ,¬â,,¢s Xbox 360 came in first (last?), with 60% of the respondents indicating that their 360 had failed at some point. Sonyââ,¬â,,¢s PlayStation 3 broke for 16% of those who took part in the poll, while the Wii stopped working for just 6%." - http://www.gamepolitics.com/2009/11/17/cnet-survey-60-percent-360s-fail
"Game Informer's survey of 5,000 console owners finds over half Microsoft's machines fail once, 41.2% fail twice; 10.6% of PS3s, 6.8% of Wiis also reported defective." - http://www.gamespot.com/news/6215590.html
A failure rate of over 50% is just unacceptable.
-Why pay $50 a year for online gaming just so you can play with your friends? You're already paying enough to buy all the games your friends have because you have to follow your group of friend's interests like a lemming if you don't want to play with Live's retarded online community.
-A PS3 is cheaper over the course of a few years compared to getting a 360 and paying for Live.
Idk man, if you want to get a 360 to just play with your bros, then go ahead. I just know that I didn't sacrifice superior games and money to play some Halo with my friends, and I haven't regretted that decision.
If you get a 360 just for halo you're a fucking moron anyway

well you can replace "halo" with "the game of the month" if you want
Well if i don't get an xbox these two friends of mine are going to buy it for me anyways.
i don't want them to but they will.
Even if i try to reject it.
Its weird when someone likes you a lot and they want to buy you things.
They want to pay for my live too because i said id rather a ps3 so i don't pay for live. And they were like 'dude ill pay it for you'
So...idk. cause ps3 would probably be better.

And 'is in love' with me.
Which i feel bad about. And i don't like accepting gifts.
PStriple: great exclusives, generally half-assed ports of multiplatform titles.
360: dumbed down PC games and nothing more. Anything that's worthwhile eventually gets a superior release on the PS3.
