 I only pirate when the demo sucks and I want to make sure the game is worth paying. I basically beat the game and if I enjoyed it, I will pay the developer.

you don't pay for a movie after you see it and decide if it was worth the price akudood;

the only game i've ever pirated is star fox 2, which was never released anyway

I've pirated Mass Effect, which was a game that I had already bought for the Xbox 360.

I also pirated Fallout 3 which I only played one or two times (great game, just kinda put it down and didn't get into it again.)

The only other game I pirated was System Shock 2, which I still haven't played, lol.  I just pirated it because I couldn't find it in stores.

I pirate old games, though only the classics. Nintendo isn't losing any cash from me doing this anyway so it's not a big deal. And if there's a port on a recent console I generally go out and buy it.

I pirate games a lot, but I've boughten a few games that I really liked. I know that doesn't make me any better, but I feel bad if I truely enjoy a game that I didn't pay for.

I do pirate a ton of old games on old systems that I can't pay for.

Buying used is just as bad as pirating.

I can't play pirated games. At least on a computer. I don't really know why this is. Probably has something to do with the fact that I don't have a controller/handheld in my hand. But I also don't pirate because then I don't feel obligated to play it. If I spend money on a game, I will finish it eventually even if I don't like, just so I can get my money's worth out of it.

Though I have installed Homebrew Channel and have downloaded a handful of VC games.

You should care about the companies. By pirating games you end up with shit like DRM, and that World of Goo situation. Hell, I read that more people played Dead Space than have actually BOUGHT it.

This is why I have to pray that good games sell well. If Batman Arkham Asylum sells poorly it discourages the developers.

Fucking pirates are killing the industry. Enjoy your shitty games in the future. Honestly, if you can't afford a 50-60 dollar game, then find a new hobby.

I don't like being tricked into buying a game that I can't get my money back for so I pirate. If I enjoy a game I will buy it, if it was mediocre I won't pay.  akudood;

Well by that it could mean that 10 people pirated it and 1000 people bought it. That would mean that 1010 people played it.
10 people pirating a game isn't a big deal akudood;

I don't give two shits OR a fuck about the music industries. However, I do care about the developers and the artists. They have a right to earn their wages...but then again, the more ridiculously exorbitant their gain is, the less sympathy I have. The Grateful Dead got famous AND reasonably secure living on a fanbase which thrived on piracy. I think that getting credit for the amazing work you do is vital, but money isn't everything you can earn.

If you can make music and live on it, then I think it's fine. Art should be available to all. The industry actually prevented that long before piracy got huge.

In short, fuck the industries. It's different for such a commercialized market as gaming, though.

Industry can be a good thing or a bad thing. In the case of music, it's a predatory thing. That's all.
