Title: Xbox 360 controller on windows
Post by: strongbad on June 16, 2009, 06:32:55 AM
So I have the play n' charge cable for my 360, so I decided to try it out on my computer for emulators and whatnot. When I plugged it in, I was prompted to install the drivers for it. They installed, and I restarted my computer. Do I need to do something else? It doesn't appear as an option in the game controllers window on the control panel.

thx  huhdoodame;

On my computer, the 360 controller appears as a generic joystick option.

I'm pretty sure if it's a wireless controller you have to have the wireless adapter thing to use it. Or just a normal wired controller.

Are you using the wireless one or the USB one?

Wireless one with play n' charge kit.
I know that the drivers worked since before I installed them the controller wouldn't even charge, but with them installed, it charges atleast.

BTW play n' charge connects to USB so I assume that it works.

The play 'n' charge doesn't disable the wireless radio and send information via the USB cable.  doodhuh;

Then how come i can play when there are no batteries and it's only connected via play n' charge? I think...

Don't you need to buy a special controller for that? It works for both PC and Xbox or something? Some kid in my classes has one.
