Especially if you only have $1400 to spend saddood;
I started my job today, and unless I want to have my mother drive me to work every day, i need a car. I've been eying craigslist almost all day and sent out a few emails, and a phone call.
I called this dude about a great 2000 Ford Ranger for $1100 with under 100K miles. He answers the phone and tells me that he meant to make it say $3100 and asked if I was still interested.
I'm looking at this car right now:

But the only problem is that I need to drive over an hour away to go see it, and that would be a huge waste of time if there is something fatally wrong with it that the owner isn't telling me about.
ITT buying cars or whatever
I called someone but she did not answer so I left her a voicemail. We will call her "Axiom". She is selling a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am GT
I called some guy who is selling a 1992 Nissan Maxima and asked if I could come by on Saturday. He said to call before I go because he already got a few offers. We will call him "Max"
I then called another woman selling a '95 Pontiac Grand Am and asked the same thing. She said pretty much the same thing. She got a few offers and people were coming by tomorrow and wednesday to look at it so call first. okay i am tired of code names, only the first one matters
I also went to call someone selling a '95 Nissan Altima GXE--BUT THEY DIDN'T GIVE A NUMBER so I had to e-mail them. I'm hoping I get a reply.
Axiom then called me back and said 11 on Saturday is good. Though I might feel a little guilty since it was her daughter's and she took it from her akudood;
My parents bought me a car when I got my driver's license (a pretty good one, if I do say so myself), so I can't relate to your angst at all.

Try getting some parents who love you. That might help. ^___^
I got my car by helping my dad fix a crashed car from his work. He asked if I liked it, bought, and told me that if I didn't do enough work on the car with him, he would simply resell the car once it was completed.
So basically, I can't relate at all.

Ride a bike, they both suck. You'll save on gas too.
I don't want to ride my bike on the highway.
My dad's probably going to give me his Loncoln C-Concept--if it ever is really produced.

What about Turbocharged akudood;
I scrounged used lots (and dealt with the mugs who run them) for ages until I resorted to solely looking in local classifieds.
I found my car on the side of the road for $1200 being sold by an older couple who only drove it in the summer. Only 70k miles on it and not a single touch of rust. Plus, he had just replaced the transmission and reworked some of the belts.
I've had it three years now and the only problems I've had was a blown tire and a funky thermostat.
get a passat gogogog
just remember, any used car you buy will likely need at least a couple hundred bucks of recommended work right away, even at an honest independent auto repair place

Yeah, I've taken that into consideration. That's why I'm trying to stay under $1000, which is making this near impossible.

yeah any decent car being sold under $1000 either has serious body issues or a lot of problems or like 750k miles
UPDATE:
My dad will pay for half if I get a pick-up truck.
Even though I'll look like a faggot driving a truck, I'll also look like a faggot driving a $1000 car, so I think that the trade-off is worth it.
Time to get a truck.
Update #2 (hopefully last update)

I'm about to go drive 50 miles to look at this. If this guy is legit, the only thing wrong with it is a cracked windshield. Wish me luck guys giggle;
