Question:
Wll graphics like these bother you?
Option 1: Yes

Option 2: No

So, as we all know, I'm not working on my projects for the three available current systems.
Instead, our projects will be open source, and available for download on the PC.
While some games have amazing graphics for being "homebrew", we've decided not to push anything.
We're not going to let it be ugly, but it'll be a little rough around the edges, literally.

As a player, would you be upset with graphics like this?
Please note, these aren't the textures that will be used in the game. They are just placeholders for me so when I use lighting, I can see what needs to be lifted or modified.
This being said, you can expect Dreamcast/early PS2 like graphics.
Thanks for your time.
Woah early PS2 graphics? Like opening Cutscene of FFX? THIS IS GONNA OWN
Also I really don't care about graphics. As long as the gameplay is good bassir;

Not even close.
Let me rephrase. It'll look more like a Dreamcast game than a PS2 game.

I think so too. I could easily make things smoother, it's just the funding behind it I don't have for the programming and stability.
That should be fine. You could actually pull something like that off quite stylishly if you make it all colorful and beautiful.
As far as the video I've shown, I'm not necessarily talking about the graphics. The model you see it the model you get.
It's the animation. giggle;
I'll be stuck animating this stuff myself, so it'll look like (if not worse than) that.

oh god yes
I love the graphical style of Wind Waker so damn much. That's just part of the reason it's my favorite Zelda game.
Wait is it gonna be an online game or what

HELL YEAH
Oh, but the water will probably be an animated texture like the one in the video. n_u
It's all going to be a little gritty. If this project succeeds, then I'll improve the visuals on my future projects.

It'll be neat. Think Alice in Wonderland meets Windwaker. happydood;

I'll make a thread about items later. Stick to the original topic.

Doothing is copyrighted. And this is about graphics.
I'll make a character page once we get further into production.
It's so exciting now that I have an art team. giggle;
What engine will you be basing it on?

I dunno. The guy I've been working with told me, but I forgot. n_u
Something about an open source.
but won't in-game animation be near impossible

Every model made has animated sequences, such as running or attacking.
From my understanding, if I use Anim8or, I'll save the file as a .3ds and animate it in Blender or some other program.
Then we'll export the object.
That's all I really understand.
