Title: I Got Guitar Hero World Tour
Post by: One Man Freak Show on October 26, 2008, 07:12:37 PM
Went to Wal-Mart to get it at midnight. It's awesome. I've played it for seven hours today and I haven't even unlocked but about 25% of the songs in Career mode. doodella;

The only thing I don't like is the complete lack of online leaderboards. If they are there, I can't find them.

Also, I just bought the game for my Wii. Thus, I can't play the drums or do vocals yet. I'll buy them later though.

Also, I haven't seen it noted anywhere else, but there's a new difficulty level: Beginner. All you do is strum. It's ridiculous.

All of IGN's scores for the different versions of the games are in.

The 360 and PS3 versions only got 7.9, but the Wii version got an 8.8.

Looks like I got the right one for once. doodella;

No they did that for Guitar Hero IV apparently. Higher difficulty is better I suppose
Seriously atleast 30 songs on the tracklist have been on Rock Band.

Nope, all the DLC is up so far. I'm tempted to buy Jessie's Girl.

Also Headless Horseman, I forgot to mention that you can actually play as Billy Corgan. Which makes the game that much better.

Only 13 of Rock Band 2's songs are in this.

Besides, this has Band on the Run. BAND ON THE RUN.

And the Wii version is actually the most fully-featured. It has an extra mode called Mii Freestyle where you grab a Mii and just play however you like. It's surprisingly fun.

Not a full song yet, but I have downloaded some. I've almost got the correct note pattern to make the music from the first level of Bionic Commando.

The game also comes with a bunch of Neversoft-created songs. Fur Elise is awesome to play, surprisingly, and even more surprisingly, I Like Dirt from Tony Hawk's American Sk8land on the DS is on there.

I didn't get the bundle, but I can confirm that the Wii version requires a Wii remote for all of the instruments except the microphone. It's retarded, in my opinion.

How does Rock Band have less features? The only feature that GH has that RB doesn't is the song creator, and the song creator is supposed to be a pain in the ass to use and the sound quality is supposed to be horrible. baddood;

Psh, stop your whining. The GH note charts have always been way better. RB looks far, far, too easy. Go look up some comparisons on YouTube, particularly the one of Float On.

So far Guitar Hero: World Tour has been very very easy.

Seriously people have asked me if I was playing on Medium when I was on expert. Two different people.

I can't beat any songs off the last two tiers on Expert in GHIII. :(

There are some pretty difficult songs in this one, though, especially later in the game. Hot for Teacher, Crazy Train, BYOB, and Assassin all come to mind instantly, and I'm sure there's more.

I just saw a video for Assassin.

ITS NOT HARD, ITS JUST A SHIT TON OF TREMOLO PICKING.

Also from the videos I've seen: Is it just me or did they make songs that use the touch pad impossible to pass without it? Seriously, just look at some of those solos, they're crazy.

Yeah, I find it hard to fathom that Hot for Teacher is possible at all without the slider, but for all the other songs, it makes everything really too easy some times. You don't have to strum on those. At all.

Oh and the song creator is fucking fun.

I made a song witheverything at a steady beat and half way through the song I just have the drums go crazy while everything else is playing normally.
It sounds so retarded that I got hiccups from laughing so hard

I'm getting the game for Christmas. Then I'll use some money to buy the microphone. Drums take up too much space.

Get Rock Band 2 wrench

It has waaaay more songs and the Career in GH world tour is so damn short.
I still haven't completed Rock Band 2's career.  baddood;
And the only songs that are worth playing on GHWT that haven't already been on Rock Band are Crazy Train and Purple Haze.

Trust me Wrench and go with Rock Band 2  baddood;

And oh god GHWT has such awful online play. Everytime I am beating anyone they always end up quitting.
Atleast Rock Band 2 lets you get a win if someone else quits  >.<

I got the full band set today. FUN. The guitar is easier, which i dislike, but the drums provide a whole new challenge. The drums are great. don't know about the songs yet, I've only played a few. Mii Freestyle is really cool

lol

Geno, shut the fuck up for once. The differences between the games are miniscule. Personally, I'd rather have some more difficulty and a song creator to goof around in.

Uh, if you want difficulty stick with GH3

I beat the game on expert very easily and only one song would be something I consider "diffcult". Really disapointing. :(
But the song creator is pretty cook

i already have GH3, but i'm not just going to stick with that game and those same songs forever psyduck;

i'm talking about GH4's difficulty vs. the notoriously easy Rock Band games

and yes i've heard that GH4 is much easier than GH3 but oh well, i could never beat Expert on GH3 anyway so i guess i suck

I couldn't even beat hard on GH3  :(

And atleast Rock Band has a little bit of difficult songs. GH4 only has like one
