I realized today that Pokemon games, as much fun as they are, piss me off so much sometimes. There are a certain number of things that make me curse out my DS all the time.
1.) When Fly misses. What the fuck? Two fucking turns, wasted. Also when paralysis prevents the attack part of Fly.
2.) Bertha's (second Elite 4 member D/P) Quagsire. As if Quagsire wasn't already stupid enough, this one spams Protect and Bertha always seems to use her Full Restore on it.
3.) One-hit KO moves. Why does it seem like they hit me so often, yet it never works if I try to use them?
4.) Sandstorms, rain, sunshine, and especially fog. God damn. Drags the battle out so much.
5.) DUNSPARCE KLJ;LKJSDF
6.) Chatot. Why is this puny fucker hard to catch? I don't get it. I've wasted so many Ultra Balls on it.
7.) Hi Jump Kick. Why does this move always seem more powerful than it's supposed to be when I'm not the one using it?
8.) GARY OAK
Victory Road argh;
The amount of luck that is put into the game. There must be a funnel that leads shit to my face or something because whenever I need a move to hit, it misses and people always seem to get critical hits at the worst possible moment for me.
I agree on almost all of those. I also hate hatching eggs. I mean...it's not that bad, but I wish it was easier. An item to speed it up would be nice. The biggest pet peeve of mine would have to be the weather types during battles, like you said. I wish it didn't have to say what is going on after every turn.
Also, in D/P, it seemed like the Pokéball system was off. I wasted many Ultraballs on a Pokémon, and it would not work. Then, I'd use all my other Pokéballs and it still would not work. I'd just throw one normal Pokéball after and it'd capture it.

Agreed.
But, Paralysis is fun, Para-Flinch Togekiss ftw. Make me smiles when my friends lost to it so much they carried a counter for it. caterpie;
As for the rest, meh, doesn't bug me, especially #4, I love Sandstorm/Rain.

Carry something with Magma Armor (Or whatever the fuck it is, Magby has it) ability? Cuts egg hatching in half or something.

Oh yes, I forgot. It's been a while since I've played befuddlement Thanks for reminding me. I have an urge to play again.

YES! Why do the battles in D/P take so long? Choose a move, pause, it actually happens, pause, health bar goes down slowly, pause, pokemon faints, pause, opponent throws a second pokeball, pause, pokemon appears.
Ugh.
Also the Battle Tower. I doubt many of you ever did much with it, but damn, the slow battles coupled with the incredible hax the computer gets makes it infuriating, and yet I keep coming back. Have a record of 79.
Specifically in D/P, surf. Apparently Platinum solved these problems of being slow.
Oh yeah, and, "Saving a lot of data."
You didn't trade for the Chatot in the game, or are you looking for a specific nature?

Did they make the bike faster too? I got PISSED at how slow the faster gear is. I'm used to the mach bike from R/S/E. It seems even a town change, changing of a boxed Pokemon's position, even catching a Pokemon makes it take that extra 10 seconds to save madood;

You mean in mid-air, right? I know! It's ridiculous. It's up there, it should just do damage if it's coming down anyway...

I'm trying to catch it on my own. I'm trying to catch all of them that I can do myself, actually. Just to see if I can manage it.
I haven't played pokemon since Pokemon blue for GB....
I always hated how you couldn't run away from a person you were battling.
KAZ. I love Gary. ;-; I'd do him. :|
Anyway, this is simple. The abundance of pokemon in all caves. And repel doesn't even work. :|
And how it seems I can get a pokemon to 1 hp, paralyzed, asleep, super low attack and defence, and yet I STILL can't catch it after throwing 15 ultra balls. Particularly Articuno who I haven't been able to catch in fire red for over a month now. :|

Rowan is awesome
Hi Jump Kick amuses me... It always seems to miss me, and then they crash and hurt themselves in the process powerofone;
Things that annoy me:
Buying a Porygon
Friendship Evolution
Hyper Fang having pretty much a 100% critical hit ratio against me
The jump in level between the last gym leader and the Elite Four... I don't have the patience anymore. Only reason I beat them in firered was because my Poliwrath was pretty much unstoppable. Hypnosis + Belly Drum + Focus Punch + any potions he needs to recover from Belly Drum. He was level 54 and was one-hitting level 70 pokemon
In Pokémon Stadium, there was this one trainer that used a Tangela or a Dratini, I can't remember which one. This would be the match, in a nutshell:

I'm glad they don't, honestly, and I wish they would quit adding more stages to older Pokemon. Magnezone? What the fuck is that shit? Mime Jr.? Happiny?

although I love stantler, when i use pokemon that don't evolve it makes me think that I'm not making any progress with them.
When I used my Groudon's last Fissure on Steven's (R/S champion) Aggron, and he had Sturdy. gonk;

Holy shit I thought I was the only person that thought that. AWESOME
Umbreon's meant to stall piss me off.

[o]Friendship evolutions
[o]Elite Four trainers who use Full Restore every other turn. I've sometimes got stuck in cycles where I use 2-3 attacks, their HP is extremely low, E4 person uses full restore, and repeat
[o]The extremely long process of trading Pokemon. Pokemon box solved it, but only for the third gen. Pokemon Ranch specifically removes that function.
[o]Egg hatching. In the 3rd and 4th gens, I've spent tons of gameplay running back and forth to hatch things.
[o]Time-based events. A couple things, like umbreon and espeon evolution split or time-based wilds, are fine. But D/P having every single fucking part of the game be time-based really gets annoying. If I want berries, I have to plant a berry then come back in a few hours, and if I'm too late my berry was wasted. If I want to transfer 3rd gen pokes, I have to do only 6 a day. If I want to buy from half the merchants, I have to come back daily for different items. If I want to catch Safari Zone pokes in D/P, I have to come back every day for a new set.
[o]Unobtainable pokemon, or Pokemon only obtainable in ridiculous cases, in events, or in spinoff games. Ho-oh's requirements were ridiculous in Colosseum. Manaphy requiring Ranger sucks, especially since I hate Ranger. Jirachi requiring Colosseum's bonus disk would annoy me if I wasn't one of few who actually owns that disk. I want to have Mew, Celebi, Deoxys, Darkrai, Sheimi, and Arceus without driving some good distance to go to events. If Nintendo hadn't put unobtainable Pokemon in the games, Action Replay probably would have had significantly lower popularity.
[o]Ridiculous commonness of Zubat, Tentacool, and the like. Nobody who has ever played a Pokemon game can say they've never used Run a ton of times on either of those Pokemon.
[o]The three-version system. I'm sorta fine with the third one, since it often makes significant improvements (Yellow with Pikachu and other tie-ins with anime, Crystal with full color support and ability to play as a female, etc) but the first two versions do not need to be split. Luckily all the console games which sell for $50 only come as one sole game. If possible I still think the 3rd versions should just be like a patch to the first game in the trio.

WHAT ABOUT MISSINGNO
More like glitching
But it can still make your pokemon better than usual (infinite rare candies, infinite upgrades, etc) so I think it fits in the same category.
- evolving Feebas is a real pain. I mean who wants to feed a boring Pokemon Pokeblocks that ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO BE "beauty" ones?!?
- the fact that TMs and HsM were changed in every generation (except for a few, like Earthquake, TM 32 if I recall)
- the fact that you have to know Braille to catch the Regis and etc (but any smart person would know that Google is their friend)
The way that DP makes me see 'em all to go anywhere beyond the E4 or some shit. Fuck that.
DP was shit in comparison to the other games. I donno if I'll buy another Pokemon game again (unless it's a GSC remake).

They made it so if you fought every trainer you would have seen them all by the end of the game, which you want to do in the first place to get experience.

Uh, it's really, really, really, really, really easy to have seen all the Pokemon almost immediately after the Elite 4. The only ones you'd likely be missing are the 3 lake legendaries and whatever big gay beastie isn't in your game (Palkia, Dialga). So uh, you go to each of the lakes, and you go to Celestic Town and look at a book that has the other big gay beastie in it.
And you're done.
