Title: Today I saw the most beautiful sunset
Post by: Samus Aran on September 28, 2008, 06:49:02 PM
It was a cloudy day for the most part, but as I drove back to school I noticed that there was a strip of clear sky far on the horizon. After a while, the sun started to drop into that clear sky and the whole strip turned pink, while the sun was a brilliant orange.

It made me wonder what I'd find if I just kept driving in the direction of that sunset instead of turning left onto the highway that takes me right to my school here in Bemidji. Perhaps I'd just go a way I'd never gone before, stick around for a day in the nearest town in that direction, skip school...hell, maybe I just wouldn't go back at all. Maybe I'd just keep driving wherever the roads took me.

Ever wonder what your life would be like if you just made a radical change in your life and never looked back? Threw caution to the wind and took a big chance?
changing cereals doesn't count
Yes. I almost every day, ever since before I could even drive, like 4-5 years old, have had the strange and sublime urge to just get in the car and drive as far as I can and start a new life.

It's not that I have ever had any big problem with my life, it's just like, the idea that I physically could dramatically change my life and make certain tomorrow will be very interesting with the flick of a wrist.

Yet something holds me back. Maybe I find comfort i will not find elsewhere in my present life. It's a calming idea actually.

sure?

I've moved from CA to MN and back several times but I don't really count those considering they weren't my choices.

Yeah let's see how far the road will take us when we run out of gas and money for more gas/food. No, I've always liked planning my life so I could eventually rise and be a success some day.

do it I have faith in you.

But seriously that path will lead to self realization and depression at the same time. Like a double edged sword.
