...as for Lindsay.. something's fishy about it. I kind of suspect that she'll end up declaring she's bisexual within the next couple years, but who knows. I don't have any more respect for her if she is a lesbian, but I must admit- if she can show that she can have any long-term meaningful relationship, I may appreciate her a bit more. She definitely hasn't been my favorite celebrity over the past couple years. I do wonder exactly how long her and sam ronson have declared themselves as "together".

maybe sexuality is determined early in life. Like your early experience shape what you prefer later on; maybe the girls around you in kindergarten were bitchy, but the boys were nice. Society has a huge influence in this kind of thing, I mean when you look at the Athenians, they thought the only true, meaningful relationship (that involved sex) was with a guy. Women were primarily baby-making machines to them.
Since the basis of American society evolved from puritan/christian principles, it's no wonder homosexuality is still taboo to alot of people here today.

While bisexual is limited to the attraction to males and females alike, trisexuals can also be attracted to people with intersex conditions, including those with ambiguous genitalia or hermaphrodites, and transsexuals and transgendered people as well. This is close to the concept of pansexuals, who love regardless of gender.

Although, romantically, every human being is matched with one soulmate, somewhere in the world, and it is your destiny to meet them, in reality there are numerous candidates for someone who would feel like a soulmate, whom your unconscious mind selects based on sexuality and personality preferences, as well as appearance preferences.
So, for the average cisgender heterosexual male, his "soulmate" will likely be found in some girl somewhere, although the same basic "reasons" (or triggers) which led him to choose her could be in some gay dude he meets on the street.

Right, and the sexual aspect is mostly driven by your basic sexuality, your hormones, and your general apperance preferences. But, if you WERE the slightest bit gay, the gayness would sieze you and make you gay for your friends who may or may not be gay.
