Honestly, it's my favourite game of all time. And when I played Yoshi's Story years later, I was so disappointed.
Anyways, does anyone know when this game is coming out for the VC? Also, are there any new Yoshi games coming out that are worth waiting for?
No new Yoshi games that I know of. All the recent ones have sucked.
Yoshi's Island is a great game but I find it to be a little overrated, because honestly I like the first Super Mario World a lot more. But still, I enjoy a playthrough of Yoshi's Island now and then and am happy that I own it on the SNES.

this.
It's a cook game. Yoshi's Story was pretty lame and YIDS was terrible. I will never play Topsy-Turvy.

I was hoping they'd come out with a Yoshi game that was entirely different from the franchise's other games. Like, making Yoshi have a third person view and such. I've heard that they are coming out with a new Yoshi game for the Wii, but I wasn't sure if that was a rumour.
Seriously though I can't stand Yoshi's Island. When I played I was expecting exactly what it was called; Super Mario World 2. But no they give me this egg throwing shit that looked like a retard's coloring book. god damn it

I hate to tell you this but Yoshi's Island is one of the best games ever.
Huge boss fights? Awesome graphics? Probably some of the best video game music ever too.

that's the only thing i liked about it, they were different yeah but I thought they were shitty looking, thought the music was okay.
I gave it to my brother and never saw it again
Yoshi's Island was definitely one of Nintendo's best games. You can whine all you want about how it wasn't really Super Mario World 2, but if you would stop jacking off all over Super Mario World you'd find that Yoshi's Island is a grade-A kickass game.

I agree.
Yoshi's Island is just one of those original games that won't happen again, Nintendo needs to make new and exciting things that are distinctly different then their old stuff.
I loved Zelda II, Yoshi's Island, and Donkey Kong Jungle Beat. I wish we'd see more like those again.

I think we will. At least Nintendo's still trying, unlike a lot of other companies I won't mention.

I agree with Zelda II and DKJB. We should definitely see more games like those.
As for Yoshi's Island...I have never played it. :'(

Uniqueness is still happening. Wind Waker is probably the best recent example I can think of, even though that's already like 5 years old or something.

Windwaker isn't unique, it's like every other Zelda game except a different graphic style.

Because every other Zelda game had sailing and an overall sea-faring theme in nearly every aspect of the game.

I didn't really like that feature. I mean, it was okay, don't me wrong. I just didn't like getting attacked by several monsters bigger than my boat every time I tried to set the three pearls.
Windwaker was amazing. It and Zelda II were the only games that did something different. It didn't quite get old until Twilight Princess. Sure they had the wolf link but that really didn't add much.

I liked Wind Waker. I just didn't find that feature appealing. It had a nice storyline, though.

I liked Wind Waker because there was a lot more to the overworld. In all the games before it, the overworld was just used to put something in between each dungeon, but in Wind Waker the overworld actually had more of a purpose, plus it was a lot bigger and more open-ended.

Twilight Princess had superb atmosphere, writing, and level design. By now I would say it's the pinnacle of gameplay perfection in the Zelda series but then again what series doesn't get improvements in gameplay after every sequel

We can argue all day, but really, you never get anywhere with this because I'm not changing my opinions for you. I'll always prefer Wind Waker over Twilight Princess, just like nearly everyone else.

Zant, Midna, and a few other segments had great writing. Though I won't lie Ganondorf was pretty amazing in Windwaker with his dialogue, but other than that their wasn't much in the writing factor.

Nothing, really. Just the fact that you can beat it within an hour makes the game less fun.
