Title: Discuss medical crises.
Post by: [REDACTED] on July 30, 2008, 10:44:40 AM
I was diagnosed with osteoporosis surprisingly at age 13. 13. My doctors said I had a T score of ~-4. Then, I found out what the T score meant, they compared me to a thirty year old. They didn't compare my bone mass to someone my age. The only problem I have is ~80Ã,º kyphosis. But no one seems to notice it.

Actually, I don't know if this counts.

When I was a freshman in high school I got a really bad case of bronchitis.  Ever since that I've lost the ability to yell for more than a few seconds.  doodthing;

As for medical issues, I have asthma, but it hasn't really been severe since I was a kid.

I also had Croup as a toddler, which was really nasty

I fell of the monkey bars when I was like ten and landed on my ass. It hurt so much, I could only slump over and suffer. I was by myself too and thought I'd never be able to walk again.

For a few weeks when I was a baby, I had to eat and sleep upside down because if I was ever right-side up I'd vomit incessantly.

I think when I got to be about 5 or 6 or so I somehow acquired tuberculosis. I really didn't even know I was sick but I was disgustingly underweight because of it and could've died.

also my one uncle had a heat stroke a few decades back and has had seizures ever since. not long after he started having seizures my mother and grandmother saw him floating at least a foot off his floor and he was in some crazy trance

I will most likely not lose it completely, but I will be nearsighted.  Today I misread an 8 as a B on a book. ;-;

No.
QuoteHyperopia, also known as hypermetropia or colloquially as farsightedness or longsightedness, is a defect of vision caused by an imperfection in the eye (often when the eyeball is too short or when the lens cannot become round enough), causing inability to focus on near objects, and in extreme cases causing a sufferer to be unable to focus on objects at any distance. As an object moves toward the eye, the eye must increase its power to keep the image in focus on the retina. If the power of the cornea and lens is insufficient, as in hyperopia, the image will appear blurred.
Hyperopia is often confused with presbyopia [2][3], another condition that frequently causes blurry near vision. [4] Presbyopes who report good far vision typically experience blurry near vision because of a reduced accommodative amplitude brought about by natural aging changes with the crystalline lens.[4] It is also sometimes referred to as farsightedness, since in otherwise normally-sighted persons it makes it more difficult to focus on near objects than on far objects.[5]
