Title: .rar question
Post by: sans culottes on March 16, 2008, 06:14:36 PM
So I've been trying to get this.

Dave Grohl's rare solo project, only 5,000 of these were made and they were on casette. What I've heard of this album is awesome.

The problem is, the only torrents I've found are in the .rar format. I'm on Windows XP. Is there any way I can turn a .rar file into mp3s or something?

.rar is an archive, similar to .zip.

Use 7-zip and unrar it to get your files.

Okay, thanks for the advice.

However, I stumbled across a rapidshare of this right after I posted this. At least I know what to do with rars now, though.

I use WinRar.
I heard that's what all of the cool open source hackers are using.

I liked your idea better, I'm gonna start using 7-Zip, and look, an x64 version!  :O
