Title: Quick!
Post by: Selkie on February 13, 2008, 03:28:18 PM
Give me a metal guitar solo to learn.

Not rediculously hard and fast and shit, but challenging enough and actually good-sounding.

Something along the lines of an Iron Maiden solo. They are good and not too rediculously fast, you know?

Why learn someone else's? That's so un-metal, maaaan.

Step 1) Grab your axe
Step 2) Plug it in and turn the amp on
Step 3) Make sure your guitar is making a metally sound
Step 4) Tap in random places like crazy all over the neck, add some whammy bar effects, use the killswitch, and do whatever you can to make a random guitar solo
Step 5) U R A GATARR GAWD

I'd tell you to learn Tom Morello's solo from "Know Your Enemy" by Rage Against the Machine, but I doubt you have a harmonizer or a pickup kill-switch.

Any solo should Marty Friedman did with Megadeth should be good, assuming you have the chops to pull it off.
