A school restricts a student from doing sports when their grades aren't good enough.
I mean, what the hell is the point of restricting someone from what they are good at and passionate about, just because they aren't good at another thing?
I just realized how stupid that is. psyduck;
Because the point of school is to get an education. psyduck;
In case you forgot, it costs money to keep a student in a public school.
Yes, heaven forbid the school tries to educate them and prepare them for later in life in case they aren't one of the few that goes on to play professionally.

Yes, but college scholarships could lead to the student not being a waste after all.
Also, sports aren't going to change their academic level. It's a proven fact that often times kids who engage in sports actually do better than kids who don't.

Colleges grab them for their team, and the kid actually does good in college because it's actually something he finds useful for his future.
Not that complicated psyduck;

If the person can't handle school work, they don't deserve to go to college.

But what happens if they break there ankle and can never play again? befuddlement
The answer: they're fucked, one of the reasons the rule you claim to be stupid even exists.

It's not a matter of handling it, it's about effort.
You think just because a brilliant high school kid simply didn't put forth effort into his schoolwork that means they should live under a bridge their whole life?

If they are brilliant and aren't using effort but instead are only focusing on sports, they don't deserve to go to college.

If they're not willing to put the work in and maintain a decent grade point average, why should they be allowed to play sports and represent the school? They would have no reason to even try in school if there were no restrictions. They need to earn it. It's a privilege.

Yes, you're supposed to put effort into work, and if they didn't put forth the effirt why do they deserve a second chance? And if the kid is so damn smart, he could pull a bank heist.

You just realized that, yet you have been saying that for weeks psyduck; , and I'm the stupid one?
Anyway, why are you allowed to drop out after 16 then? That's your choice, then devoting all your time to a sport should definitely be a choice.

Not when it's public tax dollars being wasted to keep the kid in school.

I don't think you understand.
Going to school is just as much of a privilege as being able to represent the team in sports. Are you honestly telling me that some kid who works his ass in school just fall behind some dumbass jock with a 2.0 GPA who focuses on nothing with football? It's ridiculous. We shouldn't be supporting idiocy.

maybe it's because the ones that get bad grades get kicked off the team gimp;
