I've been entertaining the thought of a flash board for quite some time, because, as you all know, I fucking love posting flash files here on Boyah.

Lawlz apparently thought that it could also serve as an image board. Basically, you create a thread with an embedded flash file or image.

Perhaps if the flash files are small enough, we could allow them to be uploaded onto Valentrinne or some other spot, but that shouldn't really be necessary. I actually use imgbolt now to host my flash files.

Also, we'd probably have a rule against embedding more than one flash per thread, because that of course screws up the files (unless they're not loops and have a "play" button at the beginning or a "pause" button during it or just have no sound I guess).

You'd probably also need to tag the thread to tell us if it's a flash or an image. Since Youtube embeds are flash as well, perhaps it could also serve as a board for Youtube videos.

Questions? Criticism? More ideas?

Sure. I might not use it all that much but why not? Better than a sports board at the least.
IMO also better than food.

I think it's a good idea, but I think it might take away the purpose of this general board.
I guess, just add it and see how it does for a month.  befuddlement

It only would if it was a visual art of some sort of something that you made, but even still, it could go just as well in this board if it existed.

Example: I make something in flash that's awesome.

Sure, it could go in the Arts board, and it fits there well, but it would fit in the Flash board too.

Honestly, I could only see a few people using it. Mainly you, Reaper, and a few various members. It doesn't really seem worth it. Art's Discussion is dead enough already, stop trying to kill it. :'(

And the Youtube threads, hell, no one likes them anyway.

I have nothing against it if it's more than just flash, but I'm sure it'll be one of those boards everyone will abuse at first then it'll completely die.

Like the RP or NSFW board.

Hopefully it would cut down the YouTube links in The Lobby, and other pointless threads that could belong there instead of here.

Yes, that's one of my main points of it. Geno would finally have a place where he can post all those shitty Youtube videos if he really wants to, though I'm willing to bet that still nobody would care about those videos.

Not like I'd use it other than for Random ratings of Signatures.

Exactly. Maybe this board could start up some actual discussion here instead of all these random videos that no one cares about.
