Sadly, yes.

No, Vista sucks. Windows sucks. Microsoft sucks.
Why the fuck would you want to install Vista?
If you're going to run Windows, at least run something that works half the time.
Yes, and actually they run it quite fast. (http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,136649-page,3-c,notebooks/article.html)
Though I'm not sure why you'd ever want to run Vista over OS X. psyduck;

Windows Mobile, Microsoft Office, MS-internet-thingies are pretty good.
Don't hate a company just because you had a shitty system that couldn't run their OS properly.

Finally, Bassir is one of the most ret

Why? If it runs fine for him on his nice little Macbook Pro, then why not? Vista is great with the right system, and the Macbook Pro is perfect. Don't hate Vista just because it didn't run properly on that 1980's Compaq you got there.

Now, the real question is how many games run on Vista and how many run on XP.
XP would do much better running games.
If you're playing games, why the fuck would you care what the GUI of the OS looks like? The game is taking up the whole screen.

lol wut a joek'
NeoOffice handles your Docx shit and all that and it has a smooth interface and perfect keyboard commands that work perfectly like and with the rest of OS X (whoodda thunk option+delete forces ms office to freeze and unable to quit when other os x apps use that combo to delete entire words psyduck;) and it's completely free and developed (or ported, rather) by Mac users... not MS employees just in it for an extra wad of cash.
so yeah im sticking with neooffice until something better just may somehow come into existence for the same price as neooffice which is of course $0
because essays and slideshows should be free and not $500

Actually, right now both ATi and Nvidia's drivers for Vista are very close to getting XP performance.
I haven't used XP in a while, but last I used it, I ran the Crysis MP Beta, and it ran exactly the same in XP as in Vista. Back in January and February though, XP was much better for gaming.
And when you start a full screen app up, ie a game, Vista turns Aero off.

Vista is a fine OS, it's just taking the same hits that XP took when it came out (so it seems) which is basically compatability.
I was pissed when I found out most of my XP games wouldn't run on Vista, because I had already upgraded. HOWEVER, I had the exact same problem going from 2000 to XP, so I cannot really hold it against the OS.
Other than compatability, and the fact that it eats up a lot of RAM, apparently, I haven't had any real issues with it. People just need to give it a chance =P
Btw, never used a Mac system, so I can't really compare the two. If you say Mac is better, than K, I'll believe you, but Vista isn't as bad as everybody thinks xD

It's not just Java. Even though what Sun owns has been LGPL'd, some core components were licensed and can't be LGPL'd. Thankfully, Red Hat and the Fedora Project are working on IcedTea, which would make it free.
But the FSF has weird rules on what is free/non-free. Firefox is considered non-free because the logo and name are trademarked. Same with any other artwork. Reverse-engineers like NTFS-3g and x264 are also considered non-free because they require interacting with proprietary codecs and such.
Blame rms. emo;
