I think it's terrible that gays don't have the right to have marriage. They should because it's their right as Americans to have the right to marry each other. This is comparable to the black civil rights movement in the 60s. Discrimination based on anything is never right. Just because you don't agree with it means that you can block them off from their constitutional rights.
I'm not gay but I think they should have the right to be married. Just because I don't do something doesn't mean I should prevent others from doing it. If they want to get married let them, it's not hurting anyone so I don't see why anyone would care. I don't see why the religious fanatics care so much. It's not like "they're going to hell" for the actions of others. There really is no reason to not let them get married.
If anything it's freedom of expression, which is allowed under the first amendment.

No one has the right to deny a person the freedom to live their life the way they want. There's nothing wrong with gay marriage. If a person wants to be with the same gender, who is another person to say "No, you can't do that."? What if the tables were turned, and people said to men, "No, you can't marry a woman because we don't accept it."? It's basically the same thing, and most people don't seem to realize that it works both ways.

I honestly don't particularly care either way about homosexual marriage. I guess I want it to be legal somewhat as a step towards better acceptance of homosexuals and a less homophobic society.
I don't really want to get married when I'm older, I don't see a reason to. I'd be fine with living with somebody and being girlfriends without marriage. I think that straight couples probably see marriage as more significant than homosexual couples do.

Mayans were around longer than Christianity has. The earliest Christianity could have possibly started was about 2000 years ago I think and Mayans being "a couple thousand years" would probably surpass that.
