Hmmmmm well at least it's not as bad as the initially teased ps3 boomerang

I honestly don't get why they got rid of the DualShock 4

Also the fact that the PS-button is literally just the logo now is weird.  Kind of makes it look cheap somehow idk

Someone posted an image of it as an all black controller, and it looks way better tbh.

Idk, as long as it's comfortable and not as faulty as initial dualshock 4's, it's fine

I like the ergonomics but the color layout is not good lol. All black would look fine methinks

way to suck all the personality and brand recognition out of the dualshock. looks indistinguishable from a switch pro/xbox controller now

agreed with these 100%
even in the photoshops I've seen of it all black, the shapes just look bad, it looks like a logitech controller wearing a wrestling singlet, or some weird combination of a Xbone and Ouya controller

here's my shitty photoshop of an improved version:



changes:
-made the handles closer resemble the DualShock 1-3
-gave the buttons their color back
-made the PS button circular again
-lopped off the stupid black spikes
-made the touchpad smaller and rectangular
-created a ridge along the top so it's not all one long straight line
-gave the direction/face buttons their distinctive circular holding shape
-repositioned the share/create buttons and made them larger

xbox controller is the GOAT and everyone should copy it at this point tbh



hell just dont have a controller and make it xbox compatible out the box baby

best controller was the gamecube

the d-pad on mine reps a ton of t99 wins and responsible for 2 invictus wins, and that game is so input heavy
haven't found a dpad aside from the official snes wireless ones that can even rival my gamecube controller's dpad

the d-pad is 10/10 from my experience

the problem with the gamecube d-pad is just that it's too small, if they swapped the d-pad and left stick and made the d-pad bigger, added a left z button, and maybe a few other minor tweaks to modernize it, the controller would be absolutely perfect

DualShock 4 and Xbone controller are both good though

I never used the d-pad in my life except for taunting in smash

it's kinda gross looking æsthetically and comically microsofty, but honestly as a playstation shill the xbox controllers really do have better ergonomix

if it's traded form for function then i can swallow it

i hate the lumpy plastic face buttons and overall texture of xbox controllers idk why people like them so much

but as far as the handles go, m$ft has the right idea

i feel like they could make this ergonomic while still retaining that silhouette, and it is a bit concave, just not on the ends

and instead of the boomerang we got a shitty dualshock knockoff with no rumble and forced jank-ass motion controls just so you could take five years to aim a grenade in uncharted 1. rumble isnt necessary, they said. motion controls were the future, they said. too bad sony didnt actually understand motion controls.

granted, i understand that the main reason dualshock took a backseat to sixaxis temporarily was because sony was then caught up in a lawsuit with immersion.

but still lol
