i was drunk on tumblr and i saw a post about video manipulation where you input a source video and the output is an image of a different person saying what the input is saying. idk if im saying it right, but this type of video manipulation is very scary to me.

in a time where FAKE NEWS is being shouted all around, it seems like this sort of technological development is going to do more harm than good.

yeah i simply can't see a good (ethical) use for this particular technology at all either lol, aside from i guess in the film industry (but at what cost)
it's astonishing that machine learning has gotten so advanced so quickly that something like this is even possible at all
on the plus side, it's the very same sort of machine learning that's brought us legitimately amazing and incredibly useful technologies like ray tracing and waifu2x lol
