Download uTorrent from here : http://www.utorrent.com/downloads/mac

Get the stable version.

Try downloading a torrent/magnet file (basically find what you want to to download from thepiratebay.org or kat.ph or demonoid.me or some other site). If it does not work OOTB, post what router you are using.

Just use direct links and cut out the middlemen.
