i made a mistake in buying the i5 6500 over at least the 6600k back in 2016, lol
i'd love to upgrade but sadly there's STILL nothing on the market that's >$400 superior to the 6500 for me, i'd be nuts to replace a 14nm cpu with another marginally better 14nm cpu at that cost
so i'll either have to wait until at least ice lake (sometime between 2020 and 2024 LOL) for intel to finally get its shite together, or maybe (hopefully) amd offers something significantly better even sooner
lol not willing to spend the price of a decent computer on a single cpu

it's not even just the cpu, a significant upgrade would also require me to replace my motherboard and probably ram too >.<
and that was actually an underestimate, a worthy cpu alone might cost me $300 and then ram (at today's prices) and motherboard would add close to another $300 lol

it's funny you should say this because globalfoundries, the manufacturer of amd's processors, actually is owned by the uae lol
i think they've suggested they'll be moving to tsmc in the future but they're foreign (taiwanese) too
intel is indeed a true american company, all but 3 of its plants are located in the usa
honestly mine would probably be just fine if it weren't for bethesda games, and worse yet, my own web browsing habits >.<

what web browser habits, never closing tabs?
I've had an i5-3570 for the past 5 years, I really don't see any reason to upgrade
