I have that same keyboard with red switches. I haven't used brown so I can't say how they compare but I know a lot of gaymers prefer red

yes
blue and browns are good for typists, they have a nice tactile feel and the former require more force to push down the actuator
blacks and reds are linear and good for muh gaymen
clear is ?????
What do you mean by linear?

What do you mean by linear?
the travel on them is one smooth motion until you bottom out; there's no tactile 'bump' to them
HMMMM what a world we live in
Oh wow beautiful gifs.
Shit what a big decision to make..
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DKXXABK
I got this back November because I had a giftcard card from mommy.
my old logitech keyboard had ghosting issues and it made me suck at binding of isaac
i have an ibm model m that i love
want to get some fancy tenkeyless one with maybe brown switches but green seems real good tbh (also curious about topre switches), and custom keycaps
some shit like this is p. close to what I want:
though with a light grey body probably
yeah i really like the look of that
totally down for not having the numpad, too
I got around to making my work buy me a mechanical keyboard
but it had to come from staples or cdw-g so i went with this: http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Mechanical-Keyboard-Tactile-High-Speed/dp/B009C98NPY
eh im sure it feels great but it looks kinda ugly
ive been thinking about grabbing one somehow recently
gonna scour all the weird electronic stores i can find this week for a mini mech
wish me luck
all i want in life is an IBM RT3200 keyboard

It's not like I had many options lol
I had go to through a "state approved vendor" and pick from their inventory which was like 14 different models, most of which were even worse (full backlight keyboard, stupid gaming shit, etc or no NUMPAD).
If I was allowed to buy directly from amazon I'd probably grab the one I have at home or get a DAS.

although i think ill snag this one off aliexpress if i cant find any irl
ventured to a reputable store today and tried out some models
they had a ducky shine but i think i'm going to hold off until i can find a ducky mini
definitely want blue switches, too. got to experiment with a bunch of different ones as opposed to just looking at them online and yes i want the loud ass ones.
Finally snagged a nice keyboard! Was looking for either a Ducky Mini or a Pok3r (wanted a 60%) and was planning on importing if I couldn't find one. After checking a few recommended shops in the urban jungle that is bangkok I found a Ducky Mini Year of the Horse with Blue Cherry MX switches for 6000 baht (or $170 usd, about the price of importing a non YotH model)
It feels amazing and I am quite happy with it. It was a fun little treasure hunt searching around Bangkok.

i don't like some of those secondary key mappings
it's not very anglocentric
what do you mean by that?
i changed cap lock to another Fn key and made Esc the default and not Fn. Kinda nice that they provided extra keycaps for those preferences. The caps to Fn is great since now I can function with either hand.
the keyboard mouse control is kinda weird but it is nice for my current setup since i'm trying to use the mouse as minimally as possible. the arrow keys as fn are kind of weird especially since i use vim arrows for everything else (so j is left instead of h) but not a huge deal
so far i am quite pleased but i think im going to buy new keycaps since mine have unnecessary thai characters on them next to the english ones.
the home row shouldn't be mapped to ANYTHING
not really gaming friendly with no dedicated arrow keys or function keys
you have to use fn to use fucking escape? or i see you changed caps lock to like accommodate this but CAPS LOCK IS CRUISE CONTROL 4 COOL
~ is very important to me ~

ya its a vintage model. im using a usb adapter for it
it looks good, i lack the lack of windows key.

i rarely use it anyway, i just use windows for video games too
i hate how on older windows OS's it would close games and other shit when i pressed it. Now on 8 it's even worse since it takes up the entire screen.
so no windows key = good keyboard.
also no windows = good computer. as soon as Rocket league gets their linux update im gone forever from windos

nice
i got rocket league a while ago but one of the reasons i dont play it is because the keyboard on my laptop isnt well-suited for it. now that i have a much better keyboard i should try again. are controllers better for it, though?
btw whats ur steam id
Controller feels more natural, every time i played with a keyboard and mouse it feels off. Though, it may be due to the fact I haven't played it enough to get use to the keyboard controls.
sydjoyce. add me brah
how much you pay for that ezlo?

Top board is my newest buy- magic force 87key with mx reds. Bottom is my Ducky Mini YotH with mx blues. Just got the magic force since I wanted my F keys and arrow keys not under a function layer. Also wanted some red switches since the blues were annoying for friends when online gaming. Loving the feel of reds now that I've gotten used to them- v smooth. Definitely my new daily driver.
I got the rainbow keys a while ago from AliExpress and Im glad I can finally use them (they looked ugly on the Ducky and I like the keycaps I have on it a lot). It's hard to capture on my phone but they look super sick when i have the keyboard backlighting on. Have another set of pink/blue keycaps from massdrop coming in (hopefully my last keyboard buy in a while lol) that I'll prob put on the 87key
i'll get a nice-ass keyboard when I have a good amount of disposable income
how do u clean keyboards
yeah just remove the keycaps and wipe them down, then wipe around the sides of the keyboard and use compressed air
