in my case, android
or as any long-term android user much prefers to call it, lagdroid
and as much as lagdroid may annoy me, i don't foresee myself abandoning it anytime soon
i've had both and i like both. though right now i just got an iphone 7 since i had to upgrade from an iphone 5c that i've had for over 3 years and i really like the simplicity of ios. i do miss using my old droid razr though. i liked being able to customize my UI into cute stuff
Do you have any desire to ever give Android another try? befuddlement
also plz vote :'(

yes. i would have bought an android here in japan but the interface on most of the japanese brand phones are really weird. the only american android phone they had was the galaxy s7 edge, which i didn't want. my husband had the edge+ in guam and he didn't like it.
I really like Android and can't see myself switching to iOS because I'm way too into the personalizing aspect and yadda yadda, but recent changes they've made to Android are questionable

Android 4 lyfe Apple is a bunch of bullshit and only wants you to use what they say you can use. Fuck dat
Android
though i constantly have really annoying bugs and crashes and lag lmao
iOS actually has a far superior user experience
but far fewer choices to get some shit i want done

like i have a 64 gig SD card + 16gb internal storage (cuz i figured the SD card obviated the need for large internal storage).
6.39GB of internal is used by OS. that's normal ok
9.03/9.61 GB is used in internal
try to view what is uing it and it takes 300000000 hours to actually calculate that
when it does
5.56GB in Apps 1.96GB in Cached data
That's 7.52GB. WHERES THE OTHER FUCKING 1.51GB. it gets annoying cuz everything defaults to internal storage and then i cant install apps lmao
i move some stuff to SD but it doesnt seem to be enough

oh i can't lol

i have an iphone 6. it's fine i guess, might switch to android for my next phone but probably wont cuz switching ecosystems sounds like a hassle. but currently have basically no issues with my current phone so probably at least another year before i upgrade tbh
I use Android. I don't think iOS can do everything I want to use my phone for, so I won't ever consider it.
If I ended up with a free iOS device for some reason, I might use it as a secondary/tertiary device and a toy, basically just for playing exclusive games I guess. I wouldn't treat it like a phone even as a fallback; if I lost/broke my main phone I'd rather deal with my previous Android phone or even my $40 Android shitphone than try to make iOS fit my needs.
I've been just using Nexus/Pixel phones and I'll probably stick with them, but I like Sony devices too.

I don't think there are any signs of that yet, it's just a misunderstanding.
App developers can make their own app download fonts from the internet and a library handles caching and whatnot so that the app can take up less space on your phone than it would if the font was bundled. The new EmojiCompat library extends this to so that the app can always have the most recent emoji font offered by a provider (usually Google Play Services). An app only has control over fonts used in its own UI; it can't affect any other apps.
That's kinda the complete opposite: rather than letting users have any sort of system-wide control over fonts or emoji, this gives app developers more freedom to choose how to handle emoji within their own app in a way that takes precedence over both the system (eg using Google emoji on Samsung phones) and the user.
It's technically possible that Android 9.0 (or later) and a corresponding Play Services update add user-changeable system-wide emoji packs, but I wouldn't count on that ever happening.
Got too many things on android to switch. And I don't think I could get used to ios.

Yeah, it was possible but Google is just now making it feasible. I think WhatsApp and a few other apps use their own emoji set already, but this library means any app developer can easily say basically "I want to always have updated Google emojis" and get it pretty easily, without updating the app every time an emoji changes, and other apps can do the same thing while sharing the updated font instead of downloading it separately every time and wasting storage.
i would actually love to spend a year or two with ios at some point (as we all know it's superior) but

It's nice, probably nicest feeling phone i've had in my hand. Multitasking is actually better than Android. phone stays more responsive regardless of what you're doing. seems like a more stable OS.
esp. bolded
It doesn't just seem that way, it actually is. srsly
as far as stability i've always found both to be about the same, but ios is definitely smoother, and definitely better at managing RAM
if ios ever allowed for changing default default apps, especially the home screen/launcher, then I would possibly consider getting an iphone
side-loading apps is also v handy, as are fb messenger's chat heads
so I guess basically just if iphones were jailbroken by default
I had an android for years and I much more prefer iOS
it's more intuitive and I can have dozens of apps on without lag
Please don't tell me you close out apps when you're done with them
i certainly don't, unless i know i'm exceedingly unlikely to use it again anytime soon
i find ios to be such a better a better mobile os
there are some things about android that are nice but i've noticed at even native google apps have better equivalents on ios
also my android's gps is hilariously inaccurate. i've noticed when looking at my location herstory on google maps it always has me going to the same place in the middle of the coconino national forest, like this
(http://i.imgur.com/rOX1A8f.png)
where as my iphone was always able to accurately detial my location throughout the day
(http://i.imgur.com/zWQGcfA.png)
it may be a minor annoyance but it's cumbersome because now i'm always getting notifications from google if i care about travel times to that random spot in the forest or if i'd like to detail my trip to it
