Botw actually was a slight disappointment to me, mainly because I was already getting sick of the open world structure, especially the Ubisoft kind.

Then of course, Skyward Sword is just.... meh.

I guess I'd say the last 15 years was generally unfavorable, but ALBW was stellar

Look at the span of 98-04 and then look at everything after. Night and day.

That said the only releases I've played in the last 15 years are twilight princess and a link between worlds so idk.

I mean expecting them to ever equal the magic of Minish Cap is just unrealistic

Only thing that disappointed me was the lack of dungeons really

But maybe my expectations were really low since I hadn't enjoyed a console Zelda since the N64

i even liked phantom hourglass quite a bit besides its stupid central dungeon thingy

i wish you were wrong but honestly, yeah

minish cap truly was the last great zelda game

its faults are negligible in comparison to the subsequent entries

what's even more disheartening is that the last truly great zelda game made by nintendo is turning 20 (TWENTY) YEARS OLD next year

And even so, Wind Waker has some SEVERE, GLARINGLY OBVIOUS faults, the most egregious of which has haunted the series ever since and only gotten more debilitating with each major mainline entry. (https://i.imgur.com/tLf8PMn.gif)

with the sole exception of TP, i suppose, but that one has more than enough of its own issues to make up for it

im unsure if youre complimenting the game (i only thought it was OK and a little soulless) or if you have low expectations of nintendo nowdays

lol i find wind waker to be just as flawed as any other modern zelda it just looks funner

the triforce quest is an absolute series low-point of dog shit and id rather search for a million orbs as a wolf than do that shit ever again (i have no idea if the wii u re-release fixes it 'enough' or not lol)

the rerelease does a great job of fixing that quest

tbh even when i first played wind waker that quest was not a big deal for me but thats kinda because i explored as much of the ocean as i could pretty regularly just for fun and to see what was out there

so by the time i was required to find these charts i already had several of them, and already had my whole map filled out

but thats just me, i obsessively found it fascinating to just explore in that game

also minish cap is this weird anomaly for me where i barely remember anything about it but i remember liking it just fine

but i clearly didnt find much about it to be all that memorable. and i cant say that about any other zelda game really.

and honestly this is more a fact than an opinion

some of nu-zelda's biggest flaws can be traced to wind wa*ker

it's still (EASILY) the best of the nu-zelads, tho
