mmmm my favorite flavor of soda: Brown
Either idc they're not that distinct
iced tea is literally the only soft drink i've been consuming for the past three years goodjob;
but coke tbh
Is iced tea considered a soft drink in Canadia
Quote from: YPrrrr on October 14, 2018, 10:02:35 AMIs iced tea considered a soft drink in Canadia
idklol
i consider it a soft drink confuseddood;
tho i'm not talking about homemade iced tea, i mean garbaggio iced tea like nestea and brisk
Quote from: YPrrrr on October 14, 2018, 09:57:56 AMEither idc they're not that distinct
I've never understood this sentiment since their flavors are so different at least to me lol. I guess Coke and Pepsi are closer to each other than they are to Dr Pepper but it's still easy to distinguish between them.
they're both garbage cancer sugar water who cares

and yet i don't think i could tell them apart either, unless maybe i were drinking both together and making a point to identify the differences in taste lol
i don't think i've ever even had coke and pepsi available to me at once to test this, but that might be a fun experiment
i guess if i HAD to pick one it'd be coke, but that feels like a mostly arbitrary choice, maybe i just like the color of the coke can more lol
but if i were to request coke and be served pepsi i wouldn't even notice

technically anything that isn't alcoholic (a "hard" drink) is a soft drink, excluding pure water, milk solutions and infusions like coffee/tea
https://www.britannica.com/topic/soft-drink
but it's often used as a synonym for 'carbonated beverage', i guess because (north) america is a soda society so what other drinks
could there be aside from soda and beer lol
Quote from: Thyme on October 14, 2018, 10:01:09 AMiced tea is literally the only soft drink i've been consuming for the past three years goodjob;
so i can assume this means thyme is a hardcore alcoholic goowan

iced tea is one of only three beverages i ever consume along with water and hot chocolate 5thgrade;
wait nvm gatorade has recently been added to that list

oh, i wasn't questioning the nutritional sensibility of your choices, i was more questioning your palate lol
i love iced tea too but i don't really like nestea or especially brisk because in addition to being only faintly lemon tea flavored, it also somehow stings all the way down
brisk in particular reminds me of this:
(https://i.imgur.com/wkpjlb4.png)
which i don't know if you have in canada but is notorious for being this extremely cheap artificial juice that's so cloyingly sweet that it burns lol
in terms of healthiness, i would assume that mass produced iced tea is at least a
little better than soda if only because it doesn't contain phosphoric acid, but idklol
i also imagine iced tea is at least slightly less sugary
the carbonation isn't really what makes soder a problem though, unless it's specifically the bubbles that you happen to be sensitive to
it's probably the combination of phosphoric acid and high sugar content that damages teeth and weakens bones and elevates risk for the beetus
Quote from: Thyme on October 16, 2018, 06:03:00 AMwait nvm gatorade has recently been added to that list
try pickle juice next y/n
In all seriousness though, now that you've been drinking it for a while, how much would you say it's eased those long walks? O_0
oh lol, idk it doesn't burn for me
at least not as much as... idk, sunny d befuddlement
and idk about the gatorade, i feel it might have helped, but on my last two long walks heat wasn't as much of a factor and i definitely didn't need to hydrate as much so
Quote from: Thyme on October 16, 2018, 02:51:38 PMoh lol, idk it doesn't burn for me

yeah, brisk causes a sunny d-type burn for me, coupled with the fact that the drink beneath the burn just isn't very good lol, but that's just my opinion
Is Arizona available in Canada? befuddlement
that's probably my favorite of the mass produced iced """teas"""
snapple iced tea is pretty okay too, certainly better than brisk or nestea but not as good as arizona imolol
*casually shills for home-grown new york products*

that's actually perfectly consistent with the way electrolytes work lol
as the body consumes its electrolyte supply the waste is excreted via sweat (and urine, hence why they're salty), and if you're sweating less due to the cooler weather that would reduce the rate of electrolyte loss (and, naturally, dehydration)
we do have arizona, i just never had one
...partly because i didn't even know it was iced tea, i thought it was an energy drink sillydood;
lol oh god sillydood;
Well now I'm going to have to forcefully shill for home-grown New York products. Try Arizona™ today. hocuspocus;
PEPSI
i grew up on pepsi but coke is served here more often

Definitely less often than Coke but I'll see it paired with Coke and Sprite at the bottom of a convenience store cooler from time to time

id probably put it somewhere between fountain coke and plastic bottle pepsi if i ever try it
i'm surprised boyah apparently has such a strong preference for coke lol

t Americans seem to have a strong preference for Coke if they strongly prefer one over the other
Especially in the south for some reason despite Pepsi also being from the south

canned beers are awesome
For the record, the packaging material only makes a difference because it affects what you're tasting when you put your lips on it. It's all the same shit. Pour it in a glass if you don't believe me.

according to the interwebs the packaging can affect the taste enough to make a difference.
The linings used in plastic and aluminum cans can leach into the drink or absorb soluble ingredients from the drink itself and create a subtle taste difference. Glass doesn't react much with the drink so is technically the most authentic
Soft drinks pour differently from glass/plastic/can openings, creating variations in carbonation when meeting your tongue.
Glass bottles remain colder longer (also take longer to cool) versus plastic or cans
If you drink from a plastic bottle, the opening and closing of the cap will affect carbonation
Also plastic bottles are more CO2 permeable; losing up to 15% of their carbonation in an experiment when stored, unopened, in direct sunlight for 12 weeks

you're right about the beer, but for some reason the taste of soda out of a can is really bad to me

this is definitely false for the reasons ypr enumerated above, but in any case (lol) the difference in taste from one material to the other is pretty negligible to me

urban outfitters is shit though
also what's wrong with cherry coke
I only know of Tab because my elementary school principal was an old lady who made sure they stocked it in the teacher's lounge soda machine, where I found it and it's been my favorite soda ever since
If they made a non fake sugar of Tab I would drink it
