Hands down the best games in the whole series. I must have played through them like six or seven times each as a kid.
Plus, the ability to link both games via password after completing one was really rad.
No, for putting Seasons over Ages.

now that i think about it, super paper mario is quite possibly the worst game i have ever played.
Really? No matter how I look at it, Super Paper Mario can't be that bad, unless you have never played any seriously bad games.
Although it's really not much of a Paper Mario game, I enjoyed it. I can see why people who played other Paper Mario games would dislike it, but I don't get how it can be called the worst game anybody has ever played.
In the Paper Mario series alone, I think Sticker Star is surely worse than Super Paper Mario.
Why is Bowser's Inside Story in particular so low on your list? I've never seen it described as worse than Partners in Time before. I'd say I think it might even be a little better than Superstar Saga.
i never played sticker star
super paper mario is awful because it tries to be a platformer and an rpg and it's a terrible attempt at both. the pacing is too obscenely slow to make the platforming aspect bearable, and the writing is so damn bad and unfunny that there's simply no appeal to the game at all. it just drags on and on and on and the only thing that keeps it going is a couple shitty "jokes" and references to the first smb
super star saga was a great game. you're given a wide array of moves and abilities.
partners in time guts all of these and dumbs it down by giving you just items for special attacks. i at least managed to finish it
bis does the same shit except i got 1/3 through and realized i wasn't having fun and just stopped. the levels were somehow even less interesting than pit's

that's kind of the joke the n64's controller is the worst controller of the past 5 generations goowan
But if you're using the wii controller in a conventional fashion then the 1 and 2 buttons are in your palm and having to use the d pad for buttons is just awk imo

well i meant with the nunchuck too. You basically only have 4 buttons minus the d pad which makes for a terrible button
oh, yeah, the remote's button count and layout probably could have been more natural lol
i'm not saying it's good as a conventional controller by any means, but it was good for what it was and i appreciated that novel freedom (((the likes of which we're unlikely to ever see again :'()))

I'll try:
5 > 4 > 3 > 6 > 8 > 7 > 9
I've never played 1, 2, or any of the handheld ones and there's a lot I don't remember about the others, so this order might have a few inaccuracies.
Some of the notable complaints I remember in certain games include:
Microphone use in 6 and 7
Since 6, board gimmicks that shift your goal further away from buy-the-star to (often) less appealing alternatives; in each newer game, some boards are good and some are worse
In 9, the vehicle mechanic was awful and also lead to the worst and most boring board designs and items
7 and 8 have relatively poor minigames
2 is cool because the levels are themed and the characters get costumes and also it has the best mix of minigames imo
My Zelda list looks like:
1:MM: OoT: WW
2:TP
3:SS/AlttP
My Mario Party rankings:
2 > 3 > 4 / 5 / 9 / Island Tour > 8
They all get kinda samey after a while, but 2 and 3 are definitely the best, 8 sucked, and 6 & 7 were too uninteresting to consider getting, especially when they were being cranked out in record time back then
only played the first one at a demo station (I miss those things for some reason)

dark souls > bloodborne >> dark souls 2 ≥ demon's souls
i expect dark souls 3 will end up right between the double >>

PS4 has jumped from last to first and I almost want to put the PS3 below the PS1 now
yo what the fuck
ps4 hasn't even been out long enough or amassed a library large enough for me to reasonably say where it belongs on a list. it won't be until it's dead. because the others are dead.
but i can safely say that it's exceedingly unlikely that i would place it at the top
yeah i could maybe understand 3rd but it's still 4th to me, not really sure where i'd rank the rest though
maybe PS2 > PS3 > PS1 > PS4? PS3 was damn good though

maybe. Probably not.
Some people say it's unplayable due to horrendous slowdown at times, and honestly, its super rough around the edges.
I just like it a bit more for its characters and story.
Also, the final boss is likely to make you break a controller.

I can see it being at the top. I probably wouldn't put it there tho, but it's already got a fuckin quality library imo, and its only growing.

I mean it's been out almost 4 years that's pretty long. I'm probably cheating by including remastered versions of PS3 games but it's easily the largest library of games I own on any system since PS2 and it's only halfway through its life cycle. Future looks very bright as well. Not saying this is definitive of course it's just my current opinion. Much happier with it than I ever was with PS3

your current opinion probably applies to me even more, because I'm into a lot of niche games.
My current ps4 library is probably a higher average of good than my ps3 library imo
i'd say the ps4 is def better than the ps3, especially so when taking ps3 hottie ports into account.
also the PS4 OS makes the PS3 OS feel borderline unusable in comparison lol

I really liked Andromeda actually. Yeah a couple lines of dialogue are wonky and sometimes the facial animations are kinda lame but I didn't really notice as I got into it. I liked it over 3 just because it felt fresher with a whole new cast and it's the best combat in the series (although they should really let you map more than 3 abilities). Idk I really enjoyed it. It wasn't as epic as 2 for sure. 3 probably has better writing I must admit.

Yeah Idk I have it on my phone but I always find myself playing the other GB and GBA Pokemon titles over it. I think when it comes to gen 1 I have a soft spot for the old school graphics. Also FRLG to me seemed to have a very muted color palette compared to ruby/Sapphire. The islands didn't really add anything cool imo and broke up the late game pacing kinda (although they're optional). Also the sprite for the protagonist is my least favorite in the series. I still like it! Not saying it's bad by any means, only DP is bad imo. I just find myself replaying the other games more. I was honestly surprised myself when I realized I'd placed it that low

I will agree the protagonist is p. lame looking, both small and large
and yeah DP are the only ones I'd consider poor
Also I only place X&Y higher than RBY because the originals haven't aged that well imo, and while X&Y are a bit dull I find them very pleasant. If we're rating them "for their time" then RBY would be a lot higher

yeah I tried to do mine based on how I felt about the game at the time. Tbf, FRLG mightve even suffered just because I had played the original so much; I started a new game every time we went to visit my relatives. So maybe I also burnt myself out on kanto a bit too. I never really restarted gold/silver the same way because it was so much longer I couldn't just beat it in a single trip. So it was fresher when I played HGSS (plus it had a lot more new stuff)

i figured
honesty, mk8 has simply the best balancing of any mario kart game ever, and it's in large part
because you can only ever have one item at a time, as annoying as that may seem when you first start playing the game lol
but it means that first place is a much more vulnerable position to be in, which levels the playing field significantly

oh yeah i just remembered there another series i could rate. RESIDENT EAGLE. including only the ones i've actually played/given a chance
RE4>RE2>RE (i would consider this REmake because who in their fucking right mind would play vanilla in 2017)>RE7>RE3>RE5>RE:Revelations>RE0=RE6
I've never really given Code Veronica a shake, but I do own it on Dreamcast lol. Revelations 2 has been on my to-play list for a while but I haven't gotten to it, mostly because I fear I won't really care for it because I thought the first one was kind of shit. I also have played the Chronicles lightgun games, but they are so nontraditional I don't know where I'd put them; they are p fun tho.
i've always wanted to try the outbreak series, but not sure if worth at this point, especially with no online
You'd actually put revelations below 5?
At least 5 committed to what it wanted to be, Revelations was all over the place. They're both not very good games though, don't get me wrong.

Nah the Wii was garbage. It had what, the Mario Galaxies, Brawl, Donkey Kong, Kirby, and maybe Wario Ware and no more heroes? Whoopdidoo
the n64 had what, mario 64, two zeldas, smash 64, one good banjo, conker, star fox, kirby, and two FPS games that ages fucking horribly?
let me refresh your memory on some other good ass games you conveniently forgot: MadWorld, PunchOut, Skyward Sword (lel), House of the Dead: Overkill, Tatsunoko Vs Capcom (better than MvC IMO), Prime 3, zack and wiki, rhythm heaven, sin and punishment 2, xenoblade, wii sports (you can knock it for the gameplay if you want but its the most important game of its generation, hands down), NSMB Wii (the 2nd best in the series even tho i hate the series lol), monster hunter tri, deadly creatures, no more heroes 1 and 2, kirbys epic yarn, the last story, excitebots, red steel 2, muramasa, mario strikers charged and plenty more that live on the arguably great spectrum
man if nintendo put out a wii+ with proper hdmi output that somehow made the graphics not muddy as fucking shit i would buy 3 of them
Both banjos were good. Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong racing, Mario Kart (not the best but better than Wiis) Rogue Squadron, Jet Force Gemini, Paper Mario, Pokemon Snap, Fzero, Wave Race, Mario Party 2 and 3 (before the series was a joke), Pokemon Stadiums, Kirby, Yoshi Story, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 and 2, Mario Golf and Tennis, Goldeneye and Perfect Dark were good at the time, 1080 snowboarding, snowboard kids, beetle adventure racing, Harvest Moon, Shadows of the Empire, Blast Corps
Both Wii Zeldas were worse than the N64s. Most of those games you listed are p. mediocre. With the exception of Kirby and No more heroes both of which I had already mentioned in my previous post, and maybe Xenoblade, Prime, and monster Hunter
Bro you can't say most of the games i listed were mediocre and proceed seriously to include banjo 2, donkey shit collectathon 64 and mario kart 64 in your list lol. pokemon snap is just a boring and slow light gun game (which there are TONS of good light gun games on the wii and i only listed my favorite single one). the mario party series has never been good, it's a meme. yoshi story is a shell of an actually good platformer. tony hawk 1 and 2 on n64 are definitively the worst ways to play those games.
also your point on zelda is kind of moot because the n64 zeldas are better than literally every zelda (shutup LTTP nerds) so no duh there lol. and besides, if we're going to go the 'X is better than X' route then you should probably drop Paper Mario, FZero, Wave Race, Mario Golf & Tennis (GB versions were better after all), Pokemon Stadium 1, and again Mario Kart and THPSs from your list as well as their successors are all infinitely superior.
also rhythm heaven fever, murumasa, and madworld are mediocre? huh goonish
Banjo 2 is good it outscored like every game you listed for the Wii lol.
Donkey Kong seems to be decisive on the N64 but it's at least as good as fucking House of the Dead overkill. Mario Kart 64 is still played by people all over the world I don't care if that's nostalgia it's still a good game for the time and people remember it for a reason. You can knock Pokemon Snap ig idc, Mario Party 2 and 3 were really fun Idk how that's a meme? I could probably drop 3 if ya want. Sure the rest especially after 5 are shit but there are so many for a reason. Mario Party 2 was beast
Yea of course better versions of games came out? It's an old ass system. It's sad when the N64 version of a game is better than one for a console 2 gens later like Mario Kart. And just because there were good versions of Mario Golf and Tennis on GB doesn't mean the N64 ones were bad? And of course they're clearly different not just ports
Yes they are mediocre games. I guess they're good by Wii standards though.
UUM THE WII HAD MUTHAFUKIN MAD DOG MCCREE!
Also, I won't accept Jet force Gemini as a serious contender for worthwhile games on n64.... replace it with Mischief Makers.
I heard mischief makers was good but I never played it befuddlement I wanted to list Animal Crossing too but it seemed like cheating to include that girl;
I can accept arguments for the NES, SNES, GameCube being better than N64 but I won't take shit from the Wii shovelware generator akudood;
But.... b-but the Wii had chicken shoot?
banjo 2 might as well be a donkey kong 64 clone and has many of the same mediocre dumbass ideas that donkey kong 64 does. giant, flat generic levels devoid of any visual landmarks and any actual platforming (due to the flatness), filled to the brim with shallow distracting side-mini-games and forced first-person-shooter-esque segments. also the transformations were all super underwhelming and for the most part just there to make you waste time by having to go back and forth to mumbos and usually the pay off was only a single jiggy instead of anything fun or meaningful. the game's better than DK64 as it doesn't obnoxiously waste your time for the collectathon element like that game does with swapping kongs every 3 minutes, but compared to the first game, tooie sucks. bk1 was a tight game with more constrained, vertical level design and direction. the only thing tooie did better was have a better, funnier, and more developed story, but everything you had to do to get to those c i n m e a t i c moments was a fucking slog
regardless it seems you're clearly either trolling, haven't actually played half the game i listed to have an opinion on them more definitive than a metascore, or are just drunk of nostalgia. once again, i love the n64 as it was my first console, but it has a shit, tiny library.

Banjo-Tooie is great fuck off. But I will concede that its worlds are too big and empty, and that Kazooie is the better game. And yeah how could you forget games like Paper Mario and Kirby 64 wtf. And Mario Kart 64 may have been massively outclassed by later games in the series but it's still good.

im not drunk off nostalgia lol you're just on the "n64 was shit because nostalgia" train. Is that Reddit? /v/? Idk but it's a ridiculously stale argument lol. The Wii and Wii U are not in the same league as far as classic titles. If you wanted a greater variety of "okay" games, sure the Wii is for you. If you want games that were kickass especially at the time, gimme an N64. Especially for multiplayer it's night and day.
I didn't say the N64 was better than any of those consoles, I'm just saying I will accept any arranging of GameCube, N64, SNES, and NES. Wii and Wii U form their own "Well at least we weren't virtual boy" tier.

Okay if you want SNES NES GC N64 > Wii > Wii U >>>>> Virtual Boy
Could maybe even put SNES above the other three in its tier but I havent played enough
Quote from: C.Mongler on July 12, 2017, 12:58:11 PM
And please do not include the N64 in a tier with the NES, SNES, and Gamecube, that's both offensive and triggering
I mean NES and Gamecube aren't THAT lit. They're good ofc. Like I was about to post, SNES could be up in the clouds I guess
SNES > GameCube > N64 > Wii U > Wii
The Wii U had great games: Splatoon, Sm4sh, Breath of the Wild, Mario 3D World, DKC Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart 8, Super Mario Maker, Bayonetta 2, and more.
N64 didn't have a large library, but a lot of it's games are still considered some of the best ever made. Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, Super Smash Bros, Harvest Moon 64, Star Fox 64, Banjo-Kazooie, the good Mario Party games, and Paper Mario.
The Wii had DKC Returns, the Mario Galaxy games, Wii Sports, Skyward Sword and a lot of really weak series entries: Brawl, Twilight Princess, Metroid Other M, New Super Mario Bros, Mario Kart Wii, etc. I guess Xenoblade Chronicles and No More Heroes were notable, but on any other platform they'd have been forgotten pretty quickly.
doodhuh;
what is confusing about what I said?
Idk.

a couple things, going off of previous posts
i agree that the galaxy games are the best 3d marios at least, i really have no idea if i think they're better than smw or 3 tho? i mean i guess they could be idk
grunty industries is legitimately super frustrating, so i agree with anyone saying it's the worst part. though i might actually like cloud cuckooland less because it's really stupid. you know, the more i think about banjo tooie the less i love it, but there are still certain things about it i really think are wonderful, namely the story and new abilities. idk. as a teenager, i used to think i liked it more than kazooie, but i think back then that was just because i liked how much larger and more challenging it was.

oh hell no they aren't
At the VERY least, not better than world.
Galaxy 2 was great and all but I'd actually say Galaxy, while still a good game, is kinda boring imo and the lowest 3D Mario for me
out of the Super Mario games I've played:
Super Mario World > Sunshine > 64 = SMB3 > Galaxy 2 = Super Mario Bros > SMB2 > 3D World > Galaxy >>>>> New Super Mario Bros > Super Mario Land 2
All but the last 2 are v good though
that list is all kinds of fucked up man
Mario Land 2 not good......
Ok.

how in god's name is the wii u better than the wii thats like making an argument the virtual boy was better than the gameboy goonish
have you people only ever walked into a walmart and looked at the wii selection and said "WOW SURE IS A LOT OF GARBAGE" and then left it at that?

Probably over 30 each for the GameCube, N64, and PS3. Wii we had like 10 games maybe.
apparently yes

the good games i was actively looking for were never there, only the garbage and the few games i already had
part of me wants to buy all the remaining games i want on ebay or something but it's not like i actually
need more games goowan
except xenoblade, i don't want it anymore, the industry ruined that one for me, nintendo and gamestop can suck lord kazm's dick
Basically any retailer I went to had their wall of Wii games where they'd have maybe 2-3 good games hidden in an I-Spy amount of shovelware
its actually a great time for wii game collectin', most of the good games are like 5-15 bucks, sometimes new too. not only that but people are dumping their collections at thrift stores left n right since so many fucking people had the damn things; in the past few months i've picked up new super mario bros wii, wii play, mario galaxy, wario ware, boom blox, ghost squad, mercury revolution, and some couple other shits that i cant remember at the moment, for like 15 bucks total.
my wii collection was pretty tiny up until recently cuz i pirated everything as soon as it was possible on the wii lel so i stopped buying games around the time brawl came out
alternatively just pirate everything and emulate in hd in dolphin, cuz while i think theres lotsa fun wii games, good god is the wii's video output fucking baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad

the wii was my main console from 2006-2010 and I think I have ~20 games for it so no, not really
tell me what amazing games the wii had. I even looked at multiple "best wii games of all time" lists and half of the games listed were trash. just because it had a large library and a few good games doesn't mean it had a large library of good games. I only have like 6 Wii U games and I enjoyed all of those games much more on average than I did the games on my Wii, not to mention there are a lot of Wii U games I still want.
then you should have bought better wii games i dont know what to tell you lol.
i made my list a few pages back, you can check it out. hell i agree mostly with the nintendo power list below too, though their rankings are weird (MadWorld is the best platinum game ever made for example), and some of the games are complete shit (Other M, Silent Hill Shattered Memories, and Mario Kart Wii, I'm lookin' at you). i'd love to hear what's trash about 50% of this list otherwise unless you'd like to just leave your hyperbole at that lol

QuoteIn the June 2012 issue (#279) of Nintendo Power, one of the featured stories was called "Wii Essentials", which listed the top 30 Wii retail games available (plus some download games). I thought it was a pretty good overview of all the great games the Wii has to offer, although I disagree with a few of the choices. Most importantly, Resident Evil 4: Wii edition is a huge omission. I would've also liked to see Boom Blox Bash Party, Monster Hunter Tri, and Okami up there. Here's the Nintendo Power list:
The Must-Haves
Donkey Kong Country Returns
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Little King's Story
Mario Kart Wii

Rayman Origins
Super Mario Galaxy
Super Smash Bros. Brawl

but really i at least posted a paragraph about why i don't care for think banjo tooie and DK64 are as good as they should have been/remembered for, could i at least get the same respect and specifics about why literally every wii game is mediocre lol besides "no, all trash!!!"
made an edit cuz i think throughout my speeches i've given the impression i think those games are 0/10 hot garbage, when really i think they are mediocre 5-6/10 tier that don't really deserve to have the legacy that they seem to have, especially when compared to Rare's golden child 3D platformer Banjo Kazoozoo
A boy and his blob is solid on wii.
Hell of a lot better than the nes game

Addressing that list:
Donkey Kong Country Returns - yes
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - yes
Little King's Story - looked interesting but never played
Mario Kart Wii - absolutely not, shit game
Metroid Prime Trilogy - yes
Rayman Origins - better on literally any other platform
Super Mario Galaxy - yes
Super Smash Bros. Brawl - worth owning if you have a wii but still the weakest smash
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom - looked interesting
Xenoblade Chronicles - sure

Bully: Scholarship Edition - better on other platforms
Dead Space: Extraction - no
Kirby's Return to Dream Land - yes
Klonoa - i guess?
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - okay
No More Heroes 2 - fine
Punch-Out!! - fine
Sonic Colors - sure
Super Mario Galaxy 2 - absolutely
Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure - good but not great

Disney's Epic Mickey - eh
GoldenEye 007 - nah
The House of the Dead: Overkill - maybe
Kirby's Epic Yarn - yes
MadWorld - i guess
Metroid: Other M - eh
New Super Mario Bros. Wii - eh
Rhythm Heaven Fever - sure
Silent Hill: Shattered Memories - nah
Sin & Punishment: Star Successor - yes
that's a much better list than the ones I looked at for sure, so I will give you that the Wii probably has more "good" games than the Wii U, but the Wii U has more great games.
I'll compare games I'd find worth having on the Wii to the Wii U:
Donkey Kong Country Returns
Kirby's Epic Yarn
Kirby's Return to Dream Land
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Little King's Story
MadWorld
Metroid Prime Trilogy
Muramasa: The Demon Blade
No More Heroes
No More Heroes 2
Punch-Out!!
Rhythm Heaven Fever
Sin & Punishment: Star Successor
Sonic Colors
Super Mario Galaxy
Super Mario Galaxy 2
Super Paper Mario
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom
Xenoblade Chronicles
Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure

Bayonetta 2
Captain Toad Treasure Tracker
Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze
Hyrule Warriors
Kirby and the Rainbow Curse
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Mario Kart 8
Paper Mario Color Splash
Pikmin 3
Rayman Legends
Splatoon
Super Mario 3D World
Super Mario Maker
Super Smash Bros 4
Tokyo Mirage Sessions
Wonderful 101
Xenoblade Chronicles X
Yoshi's Wooly World
So that's 22 games on the Wii and 18 on the Wii U, but this is excluding ports on both platforms, of which I think the Wii U has better ports (WWHD, Arkham City, Deus Ex, Mass Effect 3, etc).
Here's my top 5 for each platform:
Wii:
Donkey Kong Country Returns
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Metroid Prime Trilogy
Super Mario Galaxy 2
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Wii U:
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Mario Kart 8
Splatoon
Super Mario 3D World
Super Smash Bros 4
When narrowing these down, I had a much harder time bringing the Wii U list down. For the Wii, I only had 4 and just tacked Brawl onto it because while it's not great, I got a lot of playtime out of it.
Controversial opinion: I liked Brawl more than Smash 4

SNES > DS = GBA = Gamceube > 3DS > NES = N64 > Wii U > Wii > GB/GBC
PS2 > SNES > DS = GBA = Gamceube > PS3 > 3DS = PS1 > NES = N64 > 360 > Dreamcast = Xbox > Wii U > Wii > Genesis > PSP > PS4 > GB/GBC > XB1 > Vita > 2600 > Intellivision

Ultimate
Brawl
4U
Melee ≈ 64
3DS is irrelevant/doesn't count (and i haven't played it lol)
smash is too hard for me to be particularly objective about in any way because so much of my enjoyment of smash these days is as a spectator for competitive play and my general impression of melee has only become more and more positive over the last couple of years
i really think one's modern perception of melee hinges pretty well on whether or not they care about the scene, and, well, competitive melee is really fucking cool imo and i can't really say the same about most other smash games...though i do also enjoy comp ultimate
so yeah there is no ultimate truth for me honestly except that i consider both melee and ultimate the two goated smash games basically

Wind Waker and Ocarina of Time are close. Both are great executions of that they're trying to do.
Twilight Princess is fine with obvious flaws
Skyward Sword is garbage with the occasional good idea
I'm still playing botw but i like it. If you think it's worse than twilight Princess you're fucking delusional
In fact I'd say botw is a great execution of what Zelda was intended to be in the first place and an absolutely necessary return to form from the NES days applied to modern standards

damn, so heated
i loved my time with botw, but it and ss are truly the two zelda games that i also have the
most problems with
twilight princess, ironically, these days i do not have that many problems with in the grand scheme of things, most of my issues are a bit smaller than, say, the complete lack of actual dungeons in botw, or the complete lack of a meaningful story that's actually integrated into the player's interaction with botw
botw is a game i love for what it is, in spite of what it isn't, but i still greatly lament what's missing

I'll say that in Skyward Sword I desperately missed having big dungeons to explore. And after a while with botw, I don't miss them here. I'm very surprised to be saying that and i think it says a lot about the design philosophy. There's nothing in this world that a big dungeon would service, in terms of reward to be gained from doing one. There's no Big Thing to go into the dungeon and get.
I find myself thinking about Shadow of the Colossus more than any other game as I play it. Here's the world, here's all the stuff to explore, here are the things you need to do. Go do em. No big distractions.
I think it works!

i am genuinely fascinated by this opinion befuddlement
I think it helps a lot to be in a mindset where you're willing to check out what's around you with no strong intent on Getting To The Next Thing Immediately. A lot of the time I'll see something on the map and think "well what the hell is going on there" and on the way to that thing, something else cool will catch my attention. And often it's rewarding, sometimes monetarily, sometimes in some kind of precious resource.
This isn't usually my mindset with games, and it took some getting used to. It's also more fun when I'm high on the weed 420 for this reason.

i think it works too. i just also love zelda dungeons, and they are a big part of what zelda games are to me. sure, there's the little divine beast "dungeons," but theyre painfully simple.
and the point of a dungeon is not to have something to go get. the something to get is just part of the experience therein. you don't go into eagle tower to get the mirror shield, you go into eagle tower to solve an excellent puzzle.
