My problem was with trying to find a way to boot a Mac from something other than internal hardware since I didn't want to partition my HD and lose my data... neither of which are possible.

My operating system has the most software in the world. Sure, we have a few thousand viruses, but the amount of software is clearly worth it. Who needs shit like Ubuntu and those god damn Macs? Why should I give up this great operating system for something that's composed of free software, when every bit of software that can be run on it is also ported to my operating system, or has superior counterparts that cost a few dollars?

Not everyone needs Linux. Every program designed for Linux exists on plenty of other OSes. What advantage does Ubuntu or any other distro have over, say, Windows? No viruses? Okay, then, Ubuntu is the idiot's OS?
