Use that Fuzzy Select/Magic Wand thing in Gimp.
Click the white around his head.
Then go to Layer>Select Layer>Transparency>Alpha Channel
Then Edit>Clear
If there's any white left over, just click on it with the "magic wand" then go to Edit>Clear
Save it, and you're done.

Of course, this won't work if you use it on that modified image you have right there.
Get the original image of V's head to do this.

Trevor, on the transparency thing, is it Edit>Cut, or Edit>Clear. Because Edit>Clear doesn't seem to do anything.

I used Edit>Clear.
But I suppose Edit>Cut will work too.
