I finally decide to get a pad with a USB plug on it so I can Play Stepmania on an actual pad, and what happens?

My computer fries, and the one I'm on doesn't even support Hardware Acceleration  burned;

WHY MUST THIS COMPUTER PROBLEM BE SO FUCKING ANNOYING?  edumacate;

Also, do any of you know is Stepmania works on Vista? If it does, I'm pretty sure I can plug the pad I'm getting tomorrow into the laptop I'm getting and play it on My Aunt and Uncle's TV when I move. china;
